Yes it is! I always enjoy seeing the actors in totally different roles.
Do you, or anyone else here remember Larry Hagman playing the role of (as far as I remember) a judge in a short lived TV series named "Orleans"? It was quite a while after Dallas ended, it had to have been just going by what I remember Larry Hagman looking like - I think he was mostly bald by then which made him look a lot older but his eyebrows were wilder looking than ever, haha! Honestly I don't remember much about the show. I remember being excited to see it because "JR" was starring in it, but from what little I remember, it only lasted a few episodes and got cancelled (although I could be wrong). I don;t know if Larry Hagman ever received a starring role in another show after that but I doubt it. That was probably partly because he was having liver problems and ended up getting a transplant or he would have died. He wasn't an alcoholic; he had no problem quitting drinking when his doctor told him to - he quit immediately but it was too late for his liver - the damage had been done. So even though he wasn't an alcoholic (he wasn't addicted) he was a heavy drinker going back to his days on Dallas and probably before that. He said that n Dallas he would drink champagne (not bourbon and branch) and he said he din;t like being drink; he liked the feeling of always having a buzz. I suppose he probably had a very high tolerance so what for him was only enough to get a buzz was for an ordinary person enough that they wouldn't have been able to work because they would have been forgetting their lines, slurring their speech and stumbling around..
I'm trying to remember the time frame and I think it was maybe mid 90s because back then I didn't watch much TV at all although there was a show I liked on USA, probably one of the first series USA network ever made, and it was named "Silk Stalkings." I liked that because the stories were interesting, the scenery was pretty because it was supposed to be set in a very wealthy area of Southern Florida and one of the two stars in it was a very cute actress named Mitzi Kapture. She played a detective and there was a man who played the other detective who was her partner. Did anyone else here watch that show? It was pretty good!
"Orleans" was not on USA - it was on one of the three major networks. I just happen to remember that back then that was a show I watched and it was when "Orleans" made its debut. It seemed like it had potential because I thought Larry Hagman had the potential to be very good in the role of a judge but I don't remember anything else about the show except that as you would imagine it was set in Cajun country - Louisiana.
