sorry there wasn't one for X-files, but any fans on here? as i posted on the old site i now have seasons 1 & 2 and 9 on blu-ray. i plan on getting them all, the only downside is they don't have the episode guide the back of the dvd's have.

yep they could have, and a bit of trivia that one was so scary that fox only aired it ONCE! and it was when it aired. i did like season 10 but it had to few episodes and to many episode fillers

I'm a fan. Well, my avatar gives it away, so I probably don't need to say it.
I haven't seen the original series in years, but I have the first 3 seasons on dvd.
I don't scare easily regarding horror/thriller on tv/film, but The X-files I find creepy and at times uncomfortable in that way you want a horror series or film to make you feel. I feel the same regarding its "sister series" Millennium.

than you will love HOME from season 4 as it's already been talked about on here. i don't scare easily either but it really depends on the story. things that do creep me out is stuff done with eyes, and nails, toe nails or finger nails. like the scene in the film Zombie 2 where the nail or the piece of wood or whatever it is goes into that woman's eye you can tell it's fake when it goes in but it clearly is creepy as hell.

I find zombies quite funny. Not all, if the story is right, then I can go along with them. Like on Game of Thrones.

i'm sorry but Games of Thrones does nothing for me, but to each their own. my dad likes to say oh you don't like it because it goes over your head. no i don't like it because i find shows like that boring that's all. i don't mind watching some movies in that type if it's got people who worked on it i like but if it's a tv show naw i leave it alone. like i said to each their own. Zombies can be done for comedy like Shaun of the Dead a really great comedy/horror film. or a truly wonderful masterpiece George A. Romero's (1978) classic Dawn of the Dead. if you watch the American version the D-cut or the Theatrical it's got humor in it. but the version out in Europe has it taken out and it's not as good.

I saw it posted by both Gillian & David on social media. That is so awesome!!! I knew it all couldn't end like the 10th season did. That was a cliffhanger, in need a a continuation!!

Maybe they should end this new one on a cliffhanger as well, because i NEVER want the xfiles to end again!

man i really HATE cliff-hangers with a passion. i can go on how much i hate them but i'd be here for hours on end posting about it and i don't think you want to read that. why? because they are so over-done and so stupid to do at the end of each season that it's not even effective anymore. one thing i can say about Dallas, is that when JR was shot though i was only 2 years old the time it aired and didn't watch it that i'm aware of. that was effective and such an impact because that came out of NOWHERE and nobody expected that at all. the sad thing is that shows today i think shows today try and copy that and they've NEVER copied that at all because when JR got shot that hit a cord with people and it was talked about like crazy. i can't think of another show at all after that where that did happen. yeah there have been shows where the end of a cliff-hanger did get talked about but not like when JR and all the hype that got.
why do i hate them? again? well when i know a show is getting renewed like say Grey's than it's not that much of a big deal cause i know the show's coming back and honestly the last time they had a really great cliff-hanger was the plane crash did happen. season 10 maybe? i forget which one that was. but i knew it was coming back though it's just when shows get cancelled like say Time after Time which though it wasn't on a major cliff-hanger per say, it was a show that had it lasted a bit longer it would have had one and if it had gotten cacelled than i would have been pissed. but my best example is Twin Peaks where you don't know what's going to happen.
yes stuff was shot back than but it was never used and i dunno if it's ever been released has it? and yes we are getting a Season 3 next month but that's just pure luck and doesn't always happen. shit the reboot of Dallas needs to get rid of that cliff-hanger in maybe at tv movie to finish that story. or hell The Pretender the last tv movie ended on one and than ratings on TNT weren't as good as they thought they were going to be and they never went back the morons.

That's why episode 9 of season 3 of Game of Thrones was so bloody successful. Who does a major cliffhanger at the end of the 9th of 10 episode? People expected a major cliffhanger for the episode after that.
And only the book readers knew that GoT was gonna kill off Robb & Cat. It came as a total shocker to everyone else.
I love it when series writers re-arrange the map of that is standard. It's post-modernistic storytelling, and people won't see what's coming.
It's as you say with Twin Peaks. Anything can happen at any time. It doesn't follow the standard pattern.

It was great stuff, but would it have been cliffhanger-worthy? I mean, for me a cliffhanger ist that i wonder what happens next or ask myself if the person is really dead (like they did with Jon Snow). But all those on the red wedding were clearly killed and that was it. No open questions there.
It was a shock, of course. But not a cliffhanger that let's you wonder anything.

It was a cliffhanger in that sense that it left the viewers wondering what the heck will happen next, when the new King of the North was dead. It wasn't so much character-related, as it was storyline-related. So many people thought Robb Stark was destined to conquer the Iron Throne. Or at least the entire north of Westeros, against the Iron Throne. With him dead, it was a question of where the heck the story would go from then on.
Season 5 with Snow was both character and storyline related. Was he dead? And if so, what would happen to the fight against both the White walkers, and the Iron Throne.
Game of Thrones do cliffhangers very well, considering they are not afraid at all to kill off major characters and end big storylines in a way that doesn't follow standard storytelling pattern. Especially considering that they don't follow the books 100%. They have changed some very big stuff.
It's a good thing when not even the actors know if and when their characters will get killed off.
But I kinda like lesser cliffhangers too. I like the added pace leading up to that moment.
However, I do NOT like it when a TV series ends on a cliffhanger!!!

1stly i'm not a Games of Thrones fan at all. i don't see the appeal but to each their own ya know? my dad likes to say that i don't understand it, no it's not that at all it's just not my type of show that's all. but okay if they did that than okay that's not a bad way to do it. yeah i also hate it when shows end that way, LOST anyone? but than that entire finale never made sense anyways. Once upon a time also a show i love, each episode makes you wonder what happens next they like LOST aren't afraid of killing of people either. but honestly when you do it that often it to me loses the appeal to me. i don't mind not seeing things coming i like that in fact but to make it a habit of killing people off starts out appealing but at a certain point it gets tiring. like on Vampire Diaries them killing Bonnie like 5 times and you wonder Really? again ?
when you have a tv show that never does them, and than out of the blue do it even if it's only once than i'm not mad at but if it gets cancelled than i'm pissed.
the CSI :Cyber show that was cancelled last season the last episode felt like a finale to me and it did end up that way, but i wonder if it was shot knowing it was getting cancelled?
kinda like how Castle had 2 endings, the one we got than the one where Kate was shot and i assume killed but than fans including me hated that fact cause the show would have been utter shit without her. so the ending got a feeling of being tacked on. the previous season they did an ending and showed it where if it wasn't renewed here's what did happen. i am okay with that. they did the same thing with Charmed had an ending i liked and the last one had a awful ending. i recall 7th Heaven had a great ending with a wedding and i forget anymore. but than it got renewed and the ended they used was simply awful. so you never know what will work ya know?

i started watching this again i've got 6 episodes of season 2 left to watch and i never did get more seasons on blu-ray sadly. but i'm currently on the 2nd season on blu-ray before i head back to dvd.
