See if you can guess who is driving this particular Texas ride.
Well, we often play Jeff Foxworthy on the cassette deck in that truck! Is that you LKP? If not, how about Jeff Foxworthy

And yes, I did say cassette deck. Not all of us a president of Ewing Oil.
You are right! The Odessa-Midland area.I like trying to guess where people are from by the way they talk. I know you've told us you've spent a lot of time in the Dallas area. but I think I heard a little bit of West Texas accent there too..

My friends and I notice our accents come and go depending on where we spend time. When we're out in the country hauling hay like in the video, we are with people who speak with a steeper accent and we fall into our old accents as well.
If I spend too much time in Dallas, I tend to lose my accent. Dallas is banking city, and most folks who work in the industry came from the coasts and don't have a Texas accent.
Just to add an additional layer on this, the seven sisters along with all larger independent oil companies are based in Houston. For those Texans living in Houston, it is a point of pride to maintain a deep accent and a bit of a drawl. It's almost as if to say, "We hire people from all over the world, yet we have kept our Texas accents and traditions."
Here is a Dallas vs Houston joke I heard at the diner last night:
Dallas guy: "I own a ranch that is so big, it takes me an entire day to drive my truck across it!"
Houston guy: "Yeah. I had a truck like that once."
BWHAHAHAHAHAHA! I love it!
It seems to me another TV series needs to be made, one titled "Houston."
I’ve read an interview with David Jacobs where he admitted he didn't know much about Texas when he wrote the pilot and was first developing the show, and if he had, the show would have been Houston (oil town) instead of Dallas (banking town)
Then the world may have not had Matt Houston...

..... it would have been Matt Dallas.![]()
and the mustache... that's too much to be coincidence! Which came first, Matt Houston or Mark Graison??![]()
And even in Mark Graison's car! Almost like something from a dream.

An opportunity missed. The 1988 or 1989 Nissan 300ZX Turbo with t-tops, was my favorite car - some of you probably remember that car. My question is: What would be the closest thing to a brand new car today to that car, whether it's made by Nissan or anyone else, and how much does it cost?
Prices start at just over $30k, but I imagine it would be at least 50% on top of that for a higher spec model.
Nissan still make the Z-car. 2019 is actually the 50th anniversary.
The current model is the 370Z.

No T-bar these days though.
