Minor Characters In Dallas You Recognize From Movies Or Other TV

I think a thread where we say why a certain minor character looks familiar to us would be interesting, whether we saw the actor in a movie or another TV show.

Just yesterday I saw Kramer vs.Kramer for the first time. Good movie. I found it interesting that the actor who played the Lawyer of Dustin Hoffman's character seemed very familiar to me. Then I realized why. This was maybe 10 years earlier, roughly speaking, but there was no doubt in my mind that this was the same actor who played Senator O'Dell in the storyline where Bobby buys a 100 year land trust for O'Dell in exchange for O'Dell's cooperation in helping convince the Justice Department to allow Bobby to legally resume using the Ewing Oil name.

Whenever I watch Mitch Cooper scenes, I always see Damien from General Hospital. I also re-watched J.R. and Cally's wedding episode recently (don't ask why) and noticed it was my favourite Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle) who performed the ceremony.

I haven't watched the later seasons but Susan Lucci will always be Erica Kane to me; the same can be said for Susan Flannery in season 4 and, of course, Barbara Eden.

The best one will always be Barry Corbin, who I first watched in The Thorn Birds - I loved that TNT called him back to read J.R.'s will.

One that jumped out to me fairly recently was near the beginning of All The President's Men, the Nixon-Watergate-Redford-Hoffman-Woodward-Bernstein blockbuster. Robert Redford attends an initial court hearing for the Watergate break-in and tries to get some info from a reticent attorney... who happens to be Bobby's partner in his short-lived construction business Joe Morris, and a year later, Assistant District Attorney of Dallas County Lyle Sloan

I don´t know if the Wendell may be considered a minor character but he was in every show of the 60s and 70s, and some films of those decades too. His role in "Papillon" is quite memorable by the way.

Here is The Wendell when he wasn´t in the closet.
But one day he threw his glasses away and got back in there!

Deborah Shelton (not a minor character but not part of the main cast either) appeared in some movies before Dallas. The most successful one was the movie she starred in the year before she joined Dallas. It was a movie directed by Brian De Palma titled "Body Double."

One of the scariest movies I've ever seen is 'Hotline' with Lynda Carter and also starring Monte Markham (who played Sue Ellen's old boyfriend Clint Ogden).

If I had seen this movie before I realised he'd be in Dallas, Sue Ellen would have been receiving 24/7 police protection:

PS Steve Forrest is in it as well

Nice to see Brooks Oliver aka Donald Moffat - Miss Ellies lawyer get to be the President of the USA in Clear and Presnt danger starring the lovely Mr Ford

and Walt Driscoll / Ben Piazza as head teatcher in Mask (with Cher)

One of my fav character actors is John Randolph who was Miss Ellies divorce lawyer and he was Al Pacinos boss in Serpico

and his wife Sarah Cunningham played a Court Judge in Jagged Edge with Jeff Bridges and Glenn Close
