The Bold and the Beautiful Watching The Bold and the Beautiful

The show is very stale in its current state.
And has anyone noted how B&B has removed itself completely from being a fashion house? I caught an episode today while waiting for the afternoon news to come on and there was Eric, Brooke and Donna in the office. Once upon a time B&B would pretend to be about fashion by having a model parading a potential design but now they just don't bother.

Stephanie's condition worsened quicker than anybody though and she was forced to die in Brooke's arms
Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember Stephanie's death scene lasting a week. It just felt like it dragged on for ages.

What I didn't like about Stephanie's death was that it was plot driven. I get why Stephanie didn't want to burden her husband and children with her death, and it was typical Brooke making last-ditch attempts to get Stephanie's approval, but Stephanie should have turned her down , so it should have been Taylor who comforted Stephanie. That it was Brooke only served to make sure that Brooke was the new matriarch of the Forresters and to bring Brooke closer to Bill, who appeared before anyone else shortly after Stephanie's death.

I think it's because of the money that fashion doesn't play a big role anymore. If there were fashion shows by two rival companies, as in the past, it would surely blow the budget.

It's probably just me but I enjoy the mix of business and pleasure. At least this cements characters in some kind of realism. At the moment with B&B it could be suggested The House of Forrester is on auto-pilot while everyone fills in their day talking nonsense.

I felt they chose Brooke/Stephanie because it's their rivalry that has driven most storylines between 1987-2012. Most couples, most triangles, most business fights were affected by their rivalry.

Still, I'd rather had seen Brooke & Stephanie have a great goodbye story and then let Stephanie & Eric go off to the cabin for their goodbye ending with Stephanie dying in his arms instead of Brooke's. It all began with Eric & Stephanie, it (B&B v.1.0) should have ended with them.

Scene I wanted:
Stephanie, in the midst of the pain and trouble breathing, would motion for Brooke to come closer as if she wanted to tell Brooke some long-held secret. Brooke leans in and Stephanie summons the last of her strength to give Brooke one last slap for old time's sake, then slumps over dead.

Heather Tom said something very nice about Susan Flannery recently, naming her best scene partner from the past.

“I adored working with her. I learned so much from her. I love a woman who doesn’t let you get away with any shit. You’d better show up because if you don’t, she’s going to eat you alive, and that I find exciting. We had some good stuff together. I would welcome a spectral return of Stephanie of some sort. I think that would be great!”

Quite a lot, yes. I too was very disappointed. I wanted it to be Eric and Stephanie only. I was so disappointed that I didn't even watch the episode. I ended it with Eric and Stephanie saying goodbye (Eric was meant to return as soon as possible, after his idiot family was done with their soooo important meeting at FC that could not wait). Stephanie's condition worsened quicker than anybody though and she was forced to die in Brooke's arms. Gag.
That is something that irritates me to this day. She should have died with Eric. I also believe that John McCook was unhappy and had a discussion with Brad about it. Eric and Stephanie were the core couple. Having Stephanie die with Brooke was not only an insult to the character, but an insult to the fans

Except for a whole lot of Brooke fans... But that should not have been yet another moment to make Brooke fans happy. I don't care that Susan and Kelly are great friends, Stephanie dying should have been all about Stephanie fans. No Stephanie fan was happy to see her die in Brooke's arms.

EXACTLY!! The idea that Stephanie and Brooke became friends is absurd to me. The entire show was based on their animosity. Brooke stole her husband, her business, and was married to her husband and 2 sons. It is PATHETIC.

I can understand what you are all saying and why you feel the way you do. The Brooke-Stephanie rivalry was the backbone of the show for over two decades.

But I do like the idea of these two mortal enemies finally patching things up before one of them died. It gave the feud closure for me.

Were there better ways to handle Stephanie’s exit as has been suggested? Absolutely but I do like what they did, as unpopular as it may be. It was a very bold decision (no pun intended).

I probably would have enjoyed Brooke and Stephanie ending their feud if Stephanie hadn't with Brooke.

What happened to Don Diamont? Did he turn into a backburner of his own accord or is he receiving the same treatment that other (now gone) veterans have received in the past?

I never liked Bill, but I'm surprised Don Diamont remains silent about it. He acts like he's an easy-going person, but I'm not sure if he really is.

I hope he’s not gone or fading into the background. He’s one character that’s grown on me over the years.

I remember thinking back then that Nick (a character I didn't like) was going to stay on the show forever because he seemed so important as Ridge's half-brother and love interest of Brooke, Bridget and Katie, and then Nick was suddenly gone along with Jackie and Owen. Maybe the same thing is happening again with Bill, even though the way Bradley Bell "saved" Don Diamont's career it seemed he had a home with B&B for the rest of his life.

I don't think Don Diamont is a particularly good actor, but somehow he managed to prevent me from seeing Brad Carlton in Bill Spencer. It was different with Joseph Mascolo: I only saw Stefano DiMera and never Massimo Marone.

I was skeptical when DD left an established character with a lot of history behind to go play Bill Spencer but I think it worked out well for him.

As for Massimo, I loved the character. I thought he was a great addition to the show but I think Joseph Mascolo will always be remembered primarily for just one character. And that’s probably as it should be.

He's probably has some time off to do something else. Just like Katrina Bowden & Darin Brooks (Flo & Wyatt).

Thorsten Kaye (Ridge) recently said that he wants to take a number of months off to travel around Europe with his family. Maybe next year or in 2023.
