I tried and tied and could not hear anything that would connect me to the original.

I had read that it was a remix of "Material Girl" and it was; just not the song I thought. Saucy Santana had a song called "Material Girl" in 2020 that has no connection to Madonna's song beyond the name. "Materiel Gworrlllllll" was a remix of the 2020 song, with Madonna and that background melody added in.

Was just going to dip into this for a quick look and ended up watching the whole thing. A great little trip down memory lane for a Madonna fan.

I tried to get tickets for this in London in October, they went on sale this morning, but I had no success by 10:30...

...and then - just as i'm giving up - my sister calls and she's managed to get us 2 tickets!

YAY!!! My First Madonna gig. She may be a bit of an abominable person these days, but her's is part of the soundtrack of my life, so really looking forward to it!

Has anyone else managed to get some tickets? Which venue/country?

Which look should I try?

Gaultier:

or maybe the Like a Prayer look?

Now her hips are fixed let's hope is a good one. A whole career retrospective apparently - though hopefully without the humping bed / Sex era.

I really thought the REBEL HEART tour would be the last time I saw Madonna in concert
I did too, but when I heard rumours of this tour around Christmas I was definitely thinking about going to it. Since then, I think she’s only released one date in the UK and I’m not interested in travelling to London to see her. I have no confidence that she will turn up in time and there’s so many other concerts I want to go to that I feel wouldn’t likely piss me off.

If she adds any more dates and they are up north then I could be tempted.

Which venue/country?
No tour dates for Australia. However, after her last tour here where she pis%ed people off I wouldn't expect many wishing to attend. I also grew up with the soundtrack of Madonna and I attended her Sydney concert back in the 1993. I'm not sure why Madonna has this brusque relationship with Australia. It was one of the first countries outside America to put her on the "Pop" music map. I thought her and our personalities would be a match made in heaven. But perhaps this is what annoys her. She could not shock or receive a reaction from Australia unlike other countries. Back in the 80's and 90's it was her bread and butter to upset the establishment.

All her energy of late appears to upload vomit inducing videos on Instagram and instead of laughing with her I'm laughing at her...and there is a marked difference. Even if she does announce Australian tour dates and I think that's unlikely I won't be parting with hard earned cash to see a once ground-breaking artist.

I'm going to the NYC show. I live closer to Philadelphia but she has no announced dates for that city. NYC isn't that far, and I can make a weekend of it.

This will be the first concert I've ever attended alone; it's also the most I've ever spent on a concert ticket. Those two things are directly connected. In the past I've been limited to subpar seats due to others' budget limits and, for once, I wanted to be up closer.

I have no confidence that she will turn up in time

The only thing definite about a Madonna concert is that she will definitely not start on time.

This just popped up in my YouTube suggestions:

I had no idea that Madge had auditioned for the Fame TV series. I'm not sure about her acting, which seems to be more eye-rolling than anything else, but her charisma shines through in the "Brooke Shields" moment at the end.

It's also a nice historic document to see her talking about her "song that's, like, out on the radio right now. It's called Everybody."

I have to concede, I've never been a huge Madonna person -- I only bought one of her albums, and I mostly sat back in bemusement.

Easily my favorite song of her was "Like a Prayer," which became extremely controversial as it was used in a Pepsi commercial and included provocative imagery of Jesus. And the last time Pepsi and Jesus had not been combined was when Joan Crawford had a seat on the soft drink's corporate board.
