45th Anniversary Cast Reunion

It's a good line up but they missed a trick in not persuading Victoria to appear.

There are only 300 tickets for the event so they can't be making a lot of money out of this because I imagine each of the actors will be asking for a not insignificant appearance fee.
Most of the tickets are sold out now. Victoria Principal has confirmed she cannot attend but wishes them good luck!

Don't mess with Da Pig!!!
You provocateur!

I wish da prig oops, I meant pig would stop messing about with the Dallas title sequence!

Get someone decent in to fix the opening credits, like Fozzie Bear!

#It's time to play the music, it's time to light the lights,
it's time to fix the credits on the Dallas show tonight!# :D

but sadly the organisers won't allow tickets to be purchased from overseas.
Welcome aboard. There is plenty to read through and contribute to. Don't be afraid to express your opinion on any subject...especially Dallas. It's always refreshing to hear a newcomers perspective.

How disappointing to hear the event organisers have excluded overseas fans.

It was for money fraud reasons they didn't allow fans from outside US/Canada to buy online tickets from their own site but they offered a seperate email address for overseas fans so they could make arrangements to purchase tickets. The event sold out pretty quickly so I doubt many of those fans got a chance to get them.

Ive had my Dallas days and time with the cast and i loved it over the years - every second of it - but Ive got it out of my system now

Its now all a bit same-y and repetitive - and yes you will hear Irish spring soap for the 1000th time and the 3 musketeers stories

I totally agree with @Laurie! Steve Kanaly has the best Dallas memory and recollection of events - but Duffy will dominate and the man who had the biggest personality out there has passed away and JR was the storyteller, he was funny and entertaining.

I dont see Victoria attending anything like this, she doesnt need to and she moved on from Dallas a long time ago; its not her life or her career now and I respect her for that

Still think Palm Springs is a strange place to hold it

Maybe it's a play on words and about half way in to the event at Palm Springs we'll have Pam spring out to greet us all!

Maybe Victoria Principal will be a surprise guest after all. :)

To help celebrate the Forty Fifth Anniversary of Dallas here's an opening title sequence recreation I found on YouTube.

It's a spoof version and very tongue in cheek, no disrespect is intended to the stars of Dallas!

I hope you find it as hilarious as I did.

Thank you for your welcoming words. Yes, lots to read through and I'm obsessively going through all the Dallas conversations and loving all of it. I am in awe of everyone who contributes. I wish I had discovered this site years ago.

My husband was in contact with the organisers but unfortunately they weren't very forthcoming in helping and certainly didn't offer a separate email address I will have to have my own celebration by wearing my Dallas t-shirt and looking through my scrap book and "Dallas box" of newspaper/magazine cuttings I have collected since time began

Indeed-- the history and legacy of this hit prime serial deserves to be celebrated, even if its linchpin Hagman (J.R.) is no longer with us.
Larry would be smiling knowing this iconic series still resonates with people around the world. Let's not forget this series was the behemoth of the small screen due in part to Larry Hagman and his portrayal of J.R. Ewing. That character name will live on till the end of times.

HB to the Texas saga on the 45th! I'm hoping to visit Southfork and the Dallas city, in the not too distant future. Perhaps I might be there for my 50th, in 2025.

The DALLAS theme performed by the BOND group.

DALLAS 'AFTER THEY WERE FAMOUS'.

Pam is in Bobby's office, to begin her oil business work and you know who is not a happy camper, (a scene from season 8; DVD-9, 'Pam's year long dream', 1985-'86):

J.R.: "What the hell are you doing here? Don’t you have any respect at all? This is my brother’s office. Nobody’s supposed to be here."

PAM: "Calm down, J.R. If you want me to go to another office, I’ll ......."

J.R.: "I don’t want you in the building."

PAM: "Well, that’s too bad because you and I are partners now."

J.R.: "That may be so but I don’t want you hanging around here."

PAM: "I’m not hanging around! I’m going to be working here right by your side, every day of the week."

J.R.: "You can’t be serious."

PAM: "What did you think I meant last night at the ball?"

J.R.: "I don’t know what you meant but I’ll tell you what I mean: I don’t want you in my sight, much less my offices. And I always get what I want."

PAM: "Your threats aren’t going to work. I’m here to stay, so get used to it."

Pam then contacts Phyllis, through the intercom.

PHYLLIS: "Yes!"

PAM: "I’d like a cup of tea. A cup of herbal tea, please."

She then looks across to J.R.: "Do you want anything?"

J.R.: "This is no sentimental game, Pam. You’re in the big leagues now. And you better hope you can handle the heat, because you’re going to get plenty of it. And that’s no threat. It’s a promise."

He leaves Bobby's office, just as Phyllis brings in the herbal tea.

PHYLLIS: "Will there be anything else?"

PAM: "No, Phyllis. Not right now. Thank you!"

PHYLLIS: "Okay!"

Pam has to think about her next move generally and then secondly in the oil business. Of course J.R. will have something up his sleeve.

So much potential there had they followed through on this. Pam going toe to tie with J.R. and taking Bobby’s place on behalf of Christopher could’ve caused so much more drama than it did and it could’ve set the tone for the rest of the season.

It's a scenario I've always envisaged. If we go right back to Digger's Daughter there is this underlying tone that something big was going to happen with our Romeo and Juliet. None of us could see it of course and despite Bobby and Pam being deeply in love it was like the Universe was against them having their happily ever after. I thought the writers did an exceptional job on Jock's death so when Patrick decided he was leaving Dallas for greener pastures I thought, "Here we go."

At the reading of Bobby's Will and the final freeze frame JR turns to Pam offering his trademark death stare. Right there. That's a pivotal moment. I'm sure many were thinking what the hell is the guy we all love to hate going to do. Pamela may not have had JR's expertise in business and manipulation but what she lacked there she more than made up with having friends on her side. Cliff could finally help his sister out. Pam could have drawn on the talents of Donna which ruffles Ray's feathers.

Sue Ellen and Pam could have had a massive blow up ending their friendship. Heck, I see a cruel and vindictive Sue Ellen reminding Pam she should think less about being in the Ewing office and more about taking care of her nephew. Was there anything better than seeing a bitchy Sue Ellen.

And of course we had the rightful Miss Ellie back. Barbara Bel could have been delivering Emmy award winning performances desperately trying to keep what little family she had intact.

I had high expectations with the season return after Bobby's death but backroom politics and the introduction of characters best suited to Dynasty just upset the rhythm that was Dallas.

So much could have been drawn from Bobby's death, much like Jock's death.

Oh I do love your scenario, all of it!!
Such a shame none of that happened.
Spot on about Sue Ellen too, I love her any way she was, but she was so damn entertaining when being bitchy and vindictive.

Shame no VP I’d be on the first plane if so.

Rumors say they will invite Margaret Michaels instead. VP said: "Margaret who...?"

"My name is Pam, no my name is Margaret,
no my name is Krystle, no my name is Rita...
Let me out of heeeere!!"

I'm so pleased to tell you all I attended the event, what an amazing night!! It's a long story how we got here, but my husband managed to contact the organisers and get us booked in for meet & greet. We are in Palm springs literally for the event, spending only 3 nights here all the way from the UK.

I have spent 45 years waiting for this night as I've never been in the position to achieve my dream before. I'll put some pics on tomorrow when I've come down from my high.
I was not disappointed in any way and actually spent time chatting with the beautiful Linda Gray who has been my idol since I was 9 years old.
What a truly amazing woman and I told her so. They were all fantastic and I got all their autographs, but you can tell Linda is so gracious to her fans.

Just wanted to thank @ Garry (sorry my red pen's not working) and being on this forum or i might never have known about this event, so thank you very much.
