Dallas To Get Remastered In HD

Miss Texas 1967

Yeah, if i remember correctly, that was JR's apartment, which he had temporarily, because he was kicked out of Southfork.
Plus, that was the same building where Alexis' penthouse used to be, over on Dynasty. So one time it was supposed to be in Denver, the other time in Dallas, while the building actually was located in the middle of Los Angeles
Oh yeah haha. Am I misremembering but does
Mark Jennings also fall from the same building
?

Also, did anyone else not think Nick's place was in a high rise apartment building? It would be like saying April's place (which is also Jack's place under a different set dressing if I remember correctly) is on the ground floor. That's not the case is it?

Popular architect? It's possible. ;)

Victoria’s center picture credit in the 1986-87 season always looked off, even in the original broadcasts. It was off center and blurry. I never understood why, because it was a credit that was originally edited on film back in the early seasons. They resurrected Patrick’s old shirtless shot from before he left and it looked OK that year, and so did Ken’s, which was a holdover from the previous season (everyone else got new middle picture credits in 86-87). So I don’t know what happened with Victoria’s. Maybe it was deliberate? ;)

Yes, he did. Thrown over by Neil McVane (Paul Burke), who was dressed as Alexis, with wig and all.

I understand that original film elements were not available to properly remaster season 10 but that still doesn't explain why Victoria's opening credit footage of her walking towards the camera looks smeared and blurry. The opening credit sequences for the other actors in this season do not look smeared and blurry. If anything hers should not look that way as the footage of her walking towards the camera did not change from Season 2 on and was originally shot on film.

Or maybe I should just let it go....:confuse:

Bye Bye Pammy.

Oh for gawds sake!

The centreing on the Executive Producer credit and the Associate Producer credit are both way off!

Whoever is redoing the closing credits isn't being careful enough because uncentred credit text sticks out like a sore thumb! :(

I love the remastering of the footage, the same cannot be said of what they've done with the closing credit text on the closing sequence.

Ruddy amateurs! :(

This is what those credits should've looked like.

Right... it just looks amateurish and completly careless. Quite emberrassing for such a major label. CBS did a way better job with Dynasty.

We must be talking millimetres because I can't see the difference. The only issue I see is when Associate Producer: Cliff Fenneman is displayed the full width of Southfork isn't used in the restoration. For me however these are minor issues I can deal with. I'm interested in the real drama between the opening and closing credits. Gawd I wish Warner Bros would make an announcement about an upcoming Blu-Ray release.

You don't notice the difference!?! I think I need a shot of vallium!

The reason the image of Southfork is the side on photo of the ranch is because who ever is redoing the credits used the wrong image of Southfork!

These alterations and mistakes are starting to give me a sinking feeling because it's clear to me that absolutely no care and attention is being given to the show at all. It's all in the interest of making a fast buck and to hell with being respectful to the show and it's material. :(

I think the technicians had to at least watch all the episodes on DVD on a large monitor, from the first frame to the last, even if quickly ... before carrying out the restoration.

All it would've taken would've involved re-viewing the closing credit sequence and ensuring that when they were recreating them that they got all the text centred as is from the original sequence.

I know that there's probably some alignment and centreing issues with some of the original text on the original episodes but not to the extent where it sticks out a mile when you're viewing it!

Such a shame, I had high hopes for the show in HD. Yeah the footage is fantastic in HD but it's clear that corners are clearly being cut elsewhere hence the shoddy way they've left the end credit sequence. Which now begs the question just what mistakes have they done with the opening title sequence!?! :(

True-- if the end titles were this shoddily treated, who knows how badly the title sequence has suffered, if any?

It's just in my opinion if you're taking on a show like Dallas to remaster and update it if necessary then it should be of a high standard and not include any mistakes.

I know quite a few on here will probably think I'm over reacting about this. However if as job is worth doing, it's worth doing properly and for me that just isn't happening! :(
