Dallas To Get Remastered In HD

As @Garry illustrates with another HD gem.

Isn't it amazing just how good Dallas was as a drama series?

Hagman plays the role with such conviction. Wonderful actor, he really made the character of JR Ewing come alive and this clip is living proof of it.

Again thanks @Garry. :)

Drama at Love Field Airport.
Oh the drama, the amazing HD, the music score, absolutely stunning. I've never fully appreciated HD before, but I certainly do now.

He certainly was wonderful, perfection. The brief moment of triumph he shows followed by that look of "can't believe that just happened" and anger.
I was so chuffed it didn't go his way, but always ended up feeling a bit sorry for him too. The gift that Larry gave I guess.

Cliffhanger time with some dodgy writing and music...
Although poorly executed I loved the double hit cliff-hanger. Poor Nicholas goes flying over the balcony. How his hair didn't manage to save him I'll never know. Then we have Sue Ellen shooting that magnificent bastard not once...not twice...but three times...and he still manages to survive. The only disappointment here was Sue Ellen not removing her ear-ring to make the call.

I was gutted seeing Nicholas flying from that building and shocked, if it had been pre leaked in the press, I didn't know a it.
What followed was all a bit silly.
Sue Ellen barely grieved for her lover, only shedding a tear when visited by Nicholas' father.

And the Ewings too quickly forgave her. The umpteenth shooting of JR by his ex-wife should have initiated a battle royale for Sue Ellen's final season.

But, no. Miss Ellie said something a little gruff, and Bobby suggested Lucy should leave again. And Sue Ellen wandered around ranch at her leisure, planning a movie with her new British lover.

Where's the drama?? It's gone with the Paulsen.

I wouldn't say gutted, exactly, but I did think Nicholas was good with her. The British lover wasn't a patch on him.

Well, Nicholas' death and Don Lockwood's support were the things it took to finally get Sue Ellen off Southfork once and for all -- which she needed -- by getting her out of the country.

Not that I wanted her gone, but Telepictures c/wouldn't pay her any longer.

I agree, but always wished she'd had a better ending. So pleased she wasn't killed off.
I definitely didn't want Sue Ellen gone, but think Linda was happy to go when she did.
There's always been a bit of confusion around her leaving, I assume it was a combination of her wanting to go and them wanting her gone?

It was actually a budget thing, as it was with BBG, Charlene and Steve. Victoria left of her own accord (because they wouldn't concede to her requests) and Katzman wanted Susan gone.

I think the silly indie movie plot could've worked if they'd executed it better.

One poster here laid out a compelling scenario for Sue Ellen, rejected and reviled by the family, to have John Ross kidnapped and whisked-off just before her leaving Dallas. And DALLAS. It sounded very KNOTSian. But I'd have hated to see Omri out of a job, and 13-year old boys need to work!
