Could Merilee Had Won Her wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Ewing Oil

Was it down to JR's actions though or did Marilee actually murder her husband and JR was blamed?
She very quickly got over her husband's so say suicide.
Maybe she dunnit all along to gain full control of her husband's company. She certainly forgave JR without too much hesitation after Bobby's chat.

That's just Dallas being Dallas. People do bad things and they're almost instantly forgiven. Cliff tries to put Jock in prison for a murder he didn't commit. A few episodes later, Bobby leaves Southfork over Cliff not getting the profits on Ewing 23. Look how fast everybody forgave themselves over Mickey's death.

I still think Marilee could've murdered Seth all along.

knowing her appetite and energy, it may well have been a Nelson Rockefeller situation - was she in on the Asian revolution double-cross from the beginning to cover that up as a “suicide”?

I’ve always felt that the only way Bobby’s extreme reaction to Ewing 23 made any sense was as a convenient cover for his real reason for leaving: that Jock endorsed JR’s obvious lie about not double-crossing his friends.

Yes exactly, something on those lines would have been so good.
Marilee should've had far better storylines. From that first time we saw her in For love or money we could see what sort of character she was and could have been.

Thanks to @Garry for the video he posted on the HD thread it looks as though Jordan Lee was sat with Evelyn. Miss Ellie can be heard saying Evelyn after greeting Jordan.

Who the hell is Evelyn? His wife in paternity suit was Sarah!

What did Marilee do with Sarah?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Sarah met a similar demise to poor Seth. After all, Jordan was able to keep up with young Kristin Shepard, no easy feat for a man that seasoned and cantankerous.

Evelyn likely heard of his exploits (and that big time Lee Oil money) and hopped on the Jordan Express at the first opportunity.

Love this idea! It’s definitely a storyline they could’ve come back to at some point as she wouldn’t necessarily have been above doing something like this. So much untapped potential with the Marilee character when you think about it.

Maybe it's because she was rich in her own right and so was not perceived as sleeping around for financial gain. Instead, her reputation was similar to JR's.
You could well be right and also the fact that JR verbally abused his wife behind closed doors and viewed his conquests in a completely different way to her.
