The actors in HD

I’ve been rewatching the series on Prime (in the 81-82 season now). It’s pretty interesting to watch the closeups of all the actors. Victoria Principal, not surprisingly, looks great in her closeups (though she has heavier makeup than in the earlier episodes). Ted Shackelford has a little scar on his chin. Many of the actors don’t have perfectly straight, white teeth as has become commonplace now.

The one who surprised me a bit is Joan Van Ark - she 38 at this point, and has flawless skin and a beautiful, peaches-and-cream complexion. I never noticed that when watching in standard def.

A scene from "Who done it" when a bewildered Sue Ellen asks Bobby for help to see John Ross.

Even with that expression and her hair not in perfect place, she's still gorgeous in glorious HD.

I remember an interview some time ago maybe around TNT Dallas time and Linda spoke about her apprehension regarding HD and she learned about special make up for it.

It just seemed to be a whole new concept to her and she seemed her usual enthusiastic self when explaining how she enjoyed learning about it.

Back in original Dallas, don't think any of them had too much to worry about, but yes it would be interesting to hear about some of their reactions today.

I don't think anyone of them would feel a lot of excitement to see in all HD detail, how they looked at work 45 years ago at the same quality level, as if they would look at a mirror into the past. "Oh, i looked so young and my skin was so flawless .... back then." Who would "enjoy" something like that?
I certainly wouldn't.

If they can manage to sit through old clips of themselves during events I think they're used to seeing how they looked back then.

Most of them appear happy enough in their own skin to continue to meet with fans even now.

They're probably used to being scrutinised and hopefully would never be too critical of themselves or take HD too seriously if they were even interested enough to be bothered to watch it.
