Oh, I don’t know. Aren’t you being a little harsh? I mean Mandy wasn’t really as big a tramp as most thought she was.Mandy. She was just a tramp.

But she was a much bigger tramp than she thought she was.

if there’s one thing I’ve learned on this forum it’s that Mandy was a terrible, horrible person - the lowest of the low!Oh, I don’t know. Aren’t you being a little harsh? I mean Mandy wasn’t really as big a tramp as most thought she was.

ah, makes sense! But he wrote individual scripts that were assigned to him, earlier on, and they were okay. Later, as "supervising producer," Lakin was controlling the overall narrative (which was the problem).
that was was probably fun to make and is entertaining enough (with the Tommy McKay Drunken Incredible Hulk / Rambo balcony freak out being a true high point of late 20th century broadcast television), but come on, Howard, it’s not in a league with some of those others that people have mentioned!Apparently his favourite was that wedding bell blues one (whatever it's called) which Larry Hagman directed and Lakin was one of the supervising producers which is probably why it's his favourite.
But apart from being a beautiful woman (couldn't see it myself, but popular opinion suggests it)Oh, I don’t know. Aren’t you being a little harsh?

And yet Lakin regarded ‘Wedding Bell Blues” as his own finest piece of writing.
Well, not much. I’ve actually found her and J.R. very boring together upon rewatches. To me the chemistry just isn’t there. But apart from being a beautiful woman (couldn't see it myself, but popular opinion suggests it)
What did Mandy really offer as a character?
I wouldn’t have wanted to see them marry. I can’t see Mandy living at Southfork as she would look really out of place. Plus she really didn’t seem like the stepmotherly type. Furthermore, like all of J.R.’s women he would’ve tired of her soon enough.and maybe they should've married,
One can only dream! At least Mandy didn't end up face down in the Southfork pool.
DFF you are the voice of reason.Well, not much. I’ve actually found her and J.R. very boring together upon rewatches. To me the chemistry just isn’t there.

Now there's a couple who deserved each other, actually no, Clayton was too nice for her (if we dig deep enough).Almost as evil as Clayton
Good judges of character then!if there’s one thing I’ve learned on this forum it’s that Mandy was a terrible, horrible person - the lowest of the low!
indeed until someone makes an equally extensive and scathing thread about her, we can only conclude that Clayton was worse..Almost as evil as Clayton!
