Scenes that annoy you

However much I liked Ray and Donna, Ray became such a loser and so jealous of her. I wanted them to work together but Ray was far too resentful and only wanted his own success.

Their's was never an equal partnership, if it had been Ray and Donna would have provided such a refreshing spin on the usual Ewing marriage.
I liked Ray but the self pity with him really got old after awhile. They were a great couple but he was always his own worst enemy. Every time things seemed to be going well between them he’d find something else to be jealous about.

The scene after Sue Ellen was kidnapped by BD Calhoun. She comes back the next morning and everyone assumes she'd been out drinking, while JR was out all night with April.
Yes, everyone frowned upon Sue Ellen including Miss Ellie and Clayton, except Pam who just looked on with pity and offered to help her upstairs as usual. No one bothered where JR had been all night obviously.

Sue Ellen was so worried if she'd been raped or not and JR just casually says, "You weren't raped, that's not his style".

Still amazes me that Pam went back there to live. When you take out the dream season this is not that long after J.R. sent her on her goose chase to the Caribbean. She and Bobby had even talked in season 8 DVD about how things might’ve been different had they never lived at Southfork. And then BAM she’s back. Don’t get me wrong, it was great for dramatic reasons to have everyone under one roof again but I found it totally unrealistic at this point after everything that had happened.

Just watched another scene during the same storyline. Once again after JR messes up big time, someone sees him having a private sentimental moment and all is forgiven. This time it was Sue Ellen seeing JR having a heart to heart with John Ross after he put the entire family in serious danger. Sue Ellen practically forgives him on the spot, even though she still can't be 100% sure whether or not she was raped a few days ago.

It always bothered me how she clung to him while John Ross was with Calhoun too. I mean JR CAUSED the child to be kidnapped! She just acts like JR is an innocent victim.

I'm new to Telly Talk (I needed somewhere to talk Dallas) so I apologize if this has been mentioned before. But it always annoyed me when after Lucy's rape, Pam tells her to "stop feeling sorry for yourself" or something like that. I know it wasn't right after her sexual assault but Pam is acting like Lucy is upset over something trivial. At first, Pam was supportive and Bobby was always a great uncle to Lucy (loved their uncle-niece relationship). But that line always rubbed me the wrong way. I have never survived SA but I would imagine that it takes time to heal. A person just doesn't "get over" that in a few weeks.

She didn't hold JR solely responsible, she thought Bobby was as much to blame and saw Pam standing by Bobby.
Following her kidnapping, Sue Ellen could see JR's more sensitive side and wanted to unite with her man during this troubled time.

Pam tells her to "stop feeling sorry for yourself
Although Pam was sweet, she wasn't very good at being able to fathom other people's turmoil at times.

I can't recall her exact quote. This was such an Un Pam moment and so insensitive coming from someone who wallowed in her own self pity. Pam played a pivotal role in rescuing Lucy but then throws that line at her. This was more of a Bobby line although I can't imagine him being quite so brutal with his words here. There's a fine line between positive words and insensitive comments.
Welcome BTW!

I am a guy so (in theory) I´m not entitled to know a lot about that, but anyway I am entitled to have an opinion. Pam helped Lucy go through the trial and was discrete about it (she only told Bobby, her husband). Pam wasn´t only Lucy´s auntie by marriage, but also had suffered two miscarriages previously. Lucy did want a voluntary abortion and Pam helped her, though she herself would have never done it. Weeks later, she finds her in her mini-room watching something stupid in her (mini)TV. Considering how bratty Lucy still was, Pam did the right thing. Being condescent to someone in this situation doesn´t help the sexual survivor (and maybe Lucy was watching "Dynasty" and Pam reacted that way!). Just my 2 cents.

PS: She should´ve also told her her Barbie hair made her look like a lioness...Too much hairspray.

I didn’t get the impression Pam was trying to be insensitive in that scene. I think Pam was trying to help Lucy as she always had up to that point. She was always able to relate to Lucy on a level all of the other adults couldn’t. Could she have worded it differently? Sure, as I totally see your point, but I get where she was coming from. She was only trying to help Lucy out of her depression and through that terrible ordeal. Maybe she could’ve used a little more tact but they were very close at this point so she probably knew what she could get away with.

Little Lucy was lucky she didn´t get one of Pam´s infamous b*tchslaps...

...you know, like the one JR received when Pam returned from France...

Perhaps another great idea for a thread. Pam’s infamous slaps and the characters she should’ve slapped but never got the chance to.
Just to even things out, Pam wasn't the only good slapper!

Sue Ellen threw a good slap too e.g JR and Cliff, attempted to slap Lucy.
So to keep things equal and for entertainment purposes the thread could be when other characters deserved a slap from whoever and, dare I say, when Pam deserved a slap. I can think of a number of occasions when dear Pamela really needed one.

Katherine's scenes at the hospital after Pam's car crash, especially the one where she talks to Bobby. First, Katherine is somehow able to get into Pam's hospital room, implies while talking out loud that she is going to have her revenge and wishes that Pam would "sleep on." However, she soon disappears after she tries to get Bobby to believe she is suffering too, and that Pam's tragedy is her tragedy too. What a stupid scene on so many levels. Did Katherine think Bobby would react kindly to her visit? What was the point of her talking to him, except to mislead the viewer later on regarding Pam's disappearance? Did she think Bobby would ask her to stay and keep him company? Even dumber than Katherine in that scene is Bobby just letting her go, without calling the police or shouting for help? Bobby deserves the "Dumber than a box of rocks" award for that.

I guess he kind of forgot that she once tried to kill him in a hospital via lethal injection only weeks after shooting him and making him go temporarily blind. Must’ve slipped his mind.
