Notice how all of it is with post-Bobby returning?
Bobby's zombie return
Anything with Clayton
Haileyville?
I have only seen the last 11-13 once so its hard to recall..
Sue Ellen and her stupid movie about her life.... OH NO A defamatory movie? haha.
Mummy Pam
Pam's twin.

I have started S11- Pam is now Barnes toast. So far so good. Nothing too lame and weak.
Although a prime opportunity was ignored by not recasting Pam. We knew they had a terrific replacement and with all the burns there was drama forever. Better than what we got.
Think of all the good drama that would have came from Pam's body image, painful skin grafts- tons of material yet they piss it away for daytime soap opera antics.

Good points.

The only pre dream season (IMHO the whole dream season was horrible) story
that I would say is the season 4 Leslie/Susan Flannery debacle.
Susan Flannery is a good actress who was miscast. She was unlikeable, had no charisma,
and the notion of her as a worthy rival for JR - ridiculous.

A Pam recast? you are quite brave.

I've just finished watching season 13 and I still don't understand why Dusty couldn't have the Weststar voting stock?
I haven’t watched this season in quite a few years now so I’m a little rusty trying to answer this one. Was it that he couldn’t have it or was it that he was just showing no interest in the business as usual? I honestly can’t remember now.

Clayton just assumes that he will have to go to court to obtain power of attorney, it's not really stated 'why' Dusty can't/ won't be able to have them.

I have not seen the Pam Storyline since it aired way back when. I think....I knew it was a bit contrived and absurd. The worst part again, is they had a better alternative in their midst and didn't use it.
There are some major sticking points!
Pam is burnt and bandaged from tip to tail- can not talk, barely can move.... yet she slips a note to an UNETHICAL nurse, and doctor, and is whisked away in the night!
I work in a hospital where the transfer of information and patient rights is discussed and debated daily. From the Admissions people, Security and medical staff- we ALL are well-versed and educated. There is no way a patient would be spirited away just by passing a stupid fucking note. Especially one in such a dangerous health situation. This is Days of Our Lives BS- a dumb plot machine, nothing natural and remotely believable or acceptable. And Bobby just sits by and allows it. JR, Miss Ellie barely say a word..... Pam, a character who had been with them for 10 years- gone in an instant with NO real closure or logical exit.

Why didn't they recast and hope for an audience bump? They had nothing to lose, other than what they did anyway with lousy storylines yet to come. As stated before, it irks me to no end that they had a perfect replacement for VP and didn't make a permanent member.

Then Katherine shows up, and Bobby does nothing. At least JR said something and called him stupid for not doing anything.
The season is not as awful as I remembered, but it's veering close. Too many fast-forward moments.
Jenna and Ray stuff is good- PP acts better with Steve than she ever did with Patrick.

I still say dumbest actions (or lack of action) by any character in the history of Dallas - Bobby after Pam's accident.

Let's review the facts:

1. Katherine, Bobby knows tried to KILL him and break up his marriage shows up at the hospital, Bobby does nothing.

2. Pam disappears. Bobby KNOWS Katherine had been at the hospital. He does nothing.

3. Pam send letter telling Bobby not to look for her. Bobby knows Katherine had forged a breakup letter from Pam in the past. He does nothing.

Stupid.

Bobby after Pam's accident.
It's as if the writers were in a quandary what to do with Pam...post fireball. I'm assuming all this was reliant on Victoria returning or not but those writers inevitably stuffed up two characters; Pam and Katherine. Pam's exit was diabolical and the treatment of Katherine was bizarre. Of course the writers saved their best for last with Katherine when she was killed off mid-sentence by Bobby in TNT Dallas.

Like with Lucy, the writers did not know what they wanted with Clayton or with Katherine which is a shame. There were possibilities. The Sheriff going to JR's office was indeed the most ridiculous.

YES! Just watched this. Even JR calls him stupid.... why was Bobby brought back when he does nothing?

I always felt Dallas did in fact need Bobby. To me that was one of the biggest problems with the dream season. A J.R. without Bobby to fight with wasn’t the same J.R.

J.R. versus Pam at Ewing Oil could’ve been interesting if done differently but ultimately I think Bobby was too central a character and too important to both J.R. and Pam not to be around anymore.

And they were morons killing Bobby off permanently.... although S9 was not awful, aside from the stupid emerald hunters. It's as if Katzman hated the character of JR and began to deconstruct him slowly.

In hindsight they really shouldn’t have killed him off the way they did but he was adamant he wasn’t returning and wanted the hero’s death. I get it but either I wouldn’t have given him the death he wanted or I would’ve thought of a different way to bring him back. Easy for us to say, of course.

Why did they listen to him? I would have left the door cracked... as his body is being wheeled to the elevator, Pam watches from afar. As the doors slowly close she sees Bobby get up....
FREEZE FRAME.
The rest of the season they think she's nuts. If Duffy doesn't want to return she's nuts. Since he did, shes not nuts.

Instead of Katherine as the murderer, the finale ends with Bobby's car in an open field- abandoned. ....................

Why didn't they split Ewing Oil into 3rds? Fight that out over several seasons and gives JR his shark super powers back!

They put no thought into it. Katzman is a hack.

This could’ve been a good storyline had they decided to go that route. I always found it a little too predictable that J.R. and Bobby were going to win the trial anyway. Having Pam and Cliff get their hands on a chunk of the company together at this point could’ve created a lot of drama.

Not sure but I think PD returned for series 8 only on the condition that Bobby was not returning after that. Of course,
the result was different.
