I came across this clip from a cast party in 1980 that i haven't seen before. Nice to see Sue Nicholls there looking lovely.
Sad to think Roger Tonge wouldn't be around much longer, and Noele would soon be up for the chop...

Was Bob Monkhouse a Crossroads fan?

If anyone is interested in seeing Jane Rossington doing something other than Jill Richardson/Harvey/Chance, she's on a repeat of the antiques quiz show Going For A Song tonight on BBC 4 at 9.30pm. It's proceeded by Call My Bluff and of course Arthur Marshall, who was an avid Crossroads fan, also appeared in the series.

Couldnt find this uploaded onto Youtube, so time to change that!
Uploaded Noele Gordon / Nolly / Megs final scene in Crossroads to Youtube as I couldnt find it there. And I also love the music chosen for that scene.
Just so sad that it was the last ever time she was to appear on HER show and that Jack (2 faced) Barton is the one standing with her on that Bridge. Sad that she was ill at the time and no one really knew and that she would have sadly passed away less than 2 years later.
Long Live Noele Gordon x

Meg's daughter has died, or more accurately, trailblazing actress Cleo Sylvestre has passed away aged 79. She played Meg Richardson's daughter Melanie Harper, making her the first black actor to have a regular leading role in a UK soap opera.

With Diane Parker:

Not only this, but the article says she was also the first female vocalist to sing with The Rolling Stones as well. And the first black actress to play lead at the NT. That's a trailblazing legacy.

Thank you for this, a real nostalgia trip.
I loved the clips of Angela walking down supermarket isles, brings back memories of my childhood. Persil was only 68p a pack!

Great she got to speak with Larry Hagman himself, he must have been very big at that time, right after his shooting. Also very prescient when she asks Jack Barton about killing off characters, given how Nolly's days were by then sadly numbered....

Happy 60th birthday to Crossroads for 2nd November. I remember watching it (having to - at my Nans and old aunties, was compulsive viewing for them) from mid 70s onwards, maybe a little earlier. Megs wedding was a highlight for me and was never the same after she was sacked for me. So glad I invested in the box set. Lots of memories

Happy birthday Crossroads x

A post on FB was from Miriam Margolyes

I’d love to connect with Susan Hanson whom I knew many years ago, 1965. She married Carl Wayne who died I think in 2004, has one son Jack and like me was in CROSSROADS- she played Miss Dianne.
I’m not on any social media except Facebook.
Help appreciated.

Sues son replied and he looks like someone who works out!!

Oh, I can't read this without thinking of Miriam's story about her battle with the sanitary product machine when she went for her Xrds audition.

Oh my goodness. He certainly does. :eyes:I wonder what Amy Turtle would make of that photo!

I can definitely see the resemblance to Sue around the eyes, though.

I found myself weirdly transfixed by the "Client Success" pages, and thinking that a few of the "Befores" looked better than the "Afters".

Ah, that explains it! There are so many familiar faces that crop up here and there in the Noele Gordon collection, but I couldn't remember seeing her. Thanks.

Outside of Crossroads, Miriam and Susan were in a Cambridge Footlights production together.
