Lucy and Eddie.

What saves this plot on rewatch, at least for me, is that the actors who played Eddie and Betty had stable careers after Dallas, and it's interesting to see them in their early acting days. It's always a plus to have good actors in a weak plot.

I loved Eddie and Betty. I’d have liked a Hot Biscuit spin-off. Eddie’s definitely in my top two or three of Lucy’s love/lust interests.

Of her official boyfriends he is the worst. It's not just how he ends up treating her — it's the fact that she falls for him in the first place. He comes off as creepy and sleazy from day one, so it's hard to understand what she could possibly see in him.
Oh I do understand...

Because Eddie was hot.
Alan and Casey too.

And young women often fall for "creepy and sleazy" guys.
