Just finished season 2. It picked up towards the end. Still don’t like John Forsythe as Blake Carrington and I can’t believe he could win a fight with Nick and they barely bothered to hide the stunt men when Toscanni threw Blake and Blake got up and punched him, lol. It was disturbing seeing creepy Cecil Colby in bed with Alexis but I sense her taking over ColbyCo or at least fighting Jeff over it. Claudia was good towards the end. Not really sure where they are going with Fallon and Jeff. I grew tired of Steven whining incessantly about how tough it is to be wealthy beyond all imagination. Alexis grew on me over the season, but she’s no Angela or Abby.

Of the three CBS shows and Dynasty I would say Falcon Crest had the best first two seasons, then Dallas, Dynasty (very close) then Knots Landing which I didn’t think really picked up until Gary left Val in season three or four. I think Dallas had a better season 3 than Falcon Crest, I’ll be interested to see where Dynasty goes, I think it will be better than Knots season 3.

At some point they will have to introduce a writer, won’t they? All the shows had one… Maggie, Donna, Val. I don’t see anyone in the current cast being a writer except maybe for Steven or Krystle.

Yeah, the Scorpio Peak fistfight is poorly edited, much like the art studio catfight weeks earlier. Something was already slippimng.

It was disturbing seeing creepy Cecil Colby in bed with Alexis but I sense her taking over ColbyCo or at least fighting Jeff over it.

For 1982, it seemed unusually sleazy for TV at the time, and people were talking about it -- that had to be Joan's gushing, the porno bass, and Lloyd's back hair (which I liked).

It would soon seem almost passe.

The gay thing was still fresh meat at the time, "very contro" as the kids say today.

Alexis grew on me over the season, but she’s no Angela or Abby.

Oh, yeah. Alexis was "a brazen hussy" and she carried that outré into the boardroom. Had it been better written, it could have worked.

Joan Collins once admitted her frustration to Donna Mills that KNOTS was so much better scribed than DYNASTY.

I'm curious if you even notice the tonal shift in DYNASTY beginning with the very first episode of Season 3.

Behind or in front of the camera, it's all the same problem.

I don’t know who the man on the bottom left is there … I suppose I’ll find out soon enough.

Yes. He is Season 3.

I haven’t started yet but I’m thinking back to the episode before the finale and Blake and Alexis made a point of highlighting, going out of their way to address “Adam” who apparently didn’t survive. This seems to have Val’s babies/Richard is really Angela’s son who she thought died in childbirth written all over it. (I understand this probably came first in the timeline if it is in fact the case.)
