Dallas Top Ten Top Ten

Great list and Katherine is the best Dallas character not to be given star billing in the opening titles. I think this top ten can include scenes from different characters and doesn't have to focus on just one. My list when I eventually finalise it will have a wide range of characters.
Thank you.

You're right and I agree, but with so many weeks spent on this I didn't want to get trapped into a saga spanning 14 years where people start to lose interest.

Next week I'm going for the TNT best scenes and then we will look at the winning scene for each category in a final vote off.
I can understand why you don't want to do too many of these character things. But I am baffled that Katherine doesn't have a week to herself while April and Jenna (who were played by far less talented actresses) do. It's almost criminal, in my opinion.

She was hot and so underutilized on Dallas. Always loved how Marilee sauntered around Dallas with the Cartel.
I would have liked to see Stonehurst (was that the name of it?) Oil utilized more. Marilee was a good addition to the business storylines.

It is and Katherine is my favourite character.

But the original plan was to only do the original main characters, then we got into a conversation where people thought Jenna & April deserved their own and we would get at least a dozen voters for each....

I need to move on from the scenes for now because if we carried on, we would be doing Katherine, Digger, Cally, James, Carter, Jordan, Afton, Marilee etc....

I did mention that we can revisit the recurring characters later in the year.

Glad you feel the same! Personally, I think that a lot of side characters from the later years (James, Cally, Carter, etc.)don't even deserve full weeks to themselves, but then that wouldn't be fair to the people who actually like them. And that is when you fall into a difficult situation of deciding how much time to spend on it right now. But for future categories, I hope we can get some things that we can use one word answers for. Describing scenes can be hard sometimes.

Yes, absolutely.

It's also been hard tallying them up because someone can mention a scene with Donna, when another member may mention the same scene only to word it differently and then I have to figure if it is the same scene or one from another episode.

Perhaps it's not the hostility towards April but how long time fans of Dallas had witnessed what the series had become...a joke. I could have accepted April and Bobby's relationship if the writers had laid better foundations for the pair. Pam crashing into that tanker should have been the exclamation on that character, not left mummified. There should have been a funeral and burial service, not just for Bobby but for viewers as well. What we ended up with was sloppy writing all-round. In the episode "After The Fall/Digger Redux" there is April, consoling Bobby over Pam's unfortunate accident. Excuse me? Back off honey, I can smell your estrogen from here.

Even after Pam's vanishing Bobby is given no real time to act upon his emotional pull to her. Pam who? It's obvious to this viewer the writers/producers upon learning Victoria had left for good was to kick the character out of Dallas and have Bobby share bodily fluids with the next great love of his life Jenna...oops, she is already in a relationship with Ray. Did he not just separate from Donna like 5 scenes earlier?

So, nothing left for the writers to do but have Bobby sniffing for April, and others. Hey mate. How about you stop trying to recapture your youth and look after the one person desperately wanting your support, Christopher. Offer us viewers something real, show us how a real man steps up not trip over the pitchfork and fall conveniently into April's pleasure region.

There's an awful lot of revisionist history there. Bobby did not just "fall conveniently into April's pleasure region." On the contrary, after Pam left, April threw herself at Bobby and threw herself at him hard! In response Bobby told her he wasn't ready for a romantic or sexual relationship with anyone. He offered his friendship to April but that wasn't enough for her and she got bitter towards Bobby. She asked him if it was because he was still in love with Pam and he said "Maybe so."

April still remained very bitter that as you put it, Bobby would NOT fall into her pleasure region. Instead he briefly got together with Tammy for a one night stand but also told her he wasn't ready for anything more. April tried to ruin Bobby's lunch with Tammy by insulting Tammy and being mean. Still Bobby did not go for April. Instead he started a relationship with Kay Lloyd but her career in D.C. made their future impractical.

Finally April truly accepted Booby's friendship and nothing more. This ws quite a while after Pam left. When Tommy McKay beat up April, Bobby took care of April and avenged her. That was when he started falling in love with her and finally their romantic relationship began. This was late season 12 yet Pam left Bobby in early season 11, at least a year and a half earlier. So to say that after no real time had passed, Bobby tripped over a pitchfork and fell conveniently into April's pleasure region isn't even close to what really happened!

First of all, here is a littler help to remember the best secondary characters from "Dallas":

https://sites.google.com/site/mundodallases/origen/padres-y-demas
https://sites.google.com/site/mundo...racters-2-lovers-secundarios-2-amantesfamilia

And here are my choices:

1- Katherine: The scene where she tries to patch up things with Bobby at Ewing Oil, and instead she gets into full schizoid mode ("End Game").

2- Kristin: The scene where she pretends to apologize to Sue Ellen at the restaurant when she actually is conspiring with J.R. to make believe she´s off the wagon again ("Divorce...Ewing Style").

3- Dusty: The scene where he tells Sue Ellen to leave him alone after she finds him alive and paralysed...and impotent ("Lover Come Back").

4- Holly: The scene where she goes to Bobby at the terrace and asks him for a date, in front of super-jealous Krazy Katherine ("The Quality of Mercy").

5- Jessica: The scene where she is introduced to the Ewings by Clayton ("The Unexpected").

6- Mark: The scene where he listens to Pam at the garden and tells her he knows she doesn´t love him the way she loved Bobby ("Saving Grace").

7- Angelica: The scene where she says goodbye to dear Grace before she kills her...you can feel the love she felt for Grace there... ("Just Desserts").

8- Digger: The death scene where he reveals that sweet adored Pam is a little bastard... ("Jock´s Trial", Part 2)

9- Julie: The scene where she talks to Miss Ellie about Jock ("Julie´s Return").

10- Patricia: The scene where she bitches to J.R. about the Winger tramp at the Rodeo ("Close Encounters").

11- Marilee: The scene where she lets Sue Ellen know about the above-mentioned tramp ("Sentences").

12- Rebecca: The park scene where she tells Pam all the truth about her vanishing act ("The Prodigal Mother").

13- Kimberly: The scene at D.O.A. where Miss Ellie introduces her to Sue Ellen (shade fest!) ("Brothers & Sons")

14- Gary: The scene where he tells Jock & Ellie he´s glad that Ray is the latter´s son because he won´t have to return to Southfork! ("End of the Road", Part 2)

15- Valene: The scene where she says that she isn´t sorry J.R. has been shot ("No More Mr. Nice Guy", Part 1)

16- Afton: The voting scene for the Tundra Torque, where she tells Cliff that he has done exactly what Krazy Kat wanted ("Ewing Inferno").

17- Nicholas Pearce: The scene where Sue Ellen seduces him (what else?) ("Marriage on the Rocks").

18- Muriel: The scene where Lucy introduces him to Mickey (loved that!) ("Mama Dearest").

19- Lee Ann: Her final scene where she laughs at J.R. for losing Ewing Oil to her and Michelle ("Designing Women".

20- Teresa: Her monologue to Lucy after Sue Ellen (she can talk!) ("End Game").

Thanks CC - you really did make me loathe it, and yu get an A+ for that - the few scenes i recall. I bought 2 series worth on DVD but still in the wrappers and wont buy final season until its down to £2.99! its not worth anything more.
  1. JR and John Ross shaving scene
  2. Bobby visiting JR in nursing home
  3. JR and S E at the OIL Barons Ball - (dallas never had a cattle barons ball CC :wall: - do your homework first :a2: you shoddy little producer )
  4. the final end credits - no more damage can be done to a show i loved. Im glad it was put out of its misery!

Rant over :laughs:

I so know what you mean @Sarah I think this scene would have been at the top of my list if it hadn't been left on the cutting room floor! :2B:
It's a crime it was never even released as a deleted scene! :frustration:

I read in an article and I don't remember the source that JR/SE supposedly shared a kiss in the BBQ dance scene as well.

Anyway I will be back with my Dallas TNT list later on...
