Great update with Lucy, John Ross, and Paula! :)

I got a good chuckle out of Lucy's first line: “But John Ross this is a night club!” :giggle:

I'm sad that Lucy ended up "supporting" her cousin in regards to his deception! :( I would have wished for her to have matured some more and declined John Ross' request! :hat: But I guess that Lucy is still Lucy! ;)

Oh, come on Lucy ... if JR's son lied about where he was going, what makes you think that he's gonna be honest about his drinking habits once inside a club for adults?

Honestly, I hope that John Ross will get "caught" tonight! He needs to be taught a lesson about right and wrong, including consequences of his actions! Also, it would be so incredibly entertaining to read about his visit to the Dallas Police Station and perhaps also the Dallas Court House! :D And if JR and Sue Ellen would happen to be forced to parent together to get their son back on the right track, it just might "spice up" their relationship (and speed up Sue Ellen's divorce from Don)! ;)

Please update soon! :best:

Great update with Pam and Christopher! :spinning:

On the positive side, I loved the dialogue and the flow of their conversation! :) I was happy to hear that Christopher still loves his sister! Funny that Bobby shouldn't be trusted around the barbeque grill! :D

On the down side, the update was kind of short! :( And I was a bit disappointed in the the fact that Chris supposedly just would like his birthday "as usual", which means no need for team work between mother and son! :(

Please update soon! :bowing :best:

PS. When you said "sausages", did you mean hot dogs?

Thank you for the feedback Ms Southworth. It's much appreciated as always. :)

Yeah Lucy is still Lucy and having been the teenage rebel that she was it's easy to see why she can understand John Ross. Of course she shouldn't go along with his scheme but what was she supposed to do, forbid her cousin from going out on a date and then taken him back home with her?

He would have hated her if she had done that. So she was really stuck in between a rock and a hard place.

Interesting how you want JR/SE to "spice up" their relationship. It will happen eventually of course... ;)

Yes I meant hot dogs when I said sausages.
Yeah Chris wants his birthday as usual for now...

Okay so it's time for an update and since the scenes sort of belong together you'll get a double treat tonight:

A little later at the nightclub On the Rocks, Charlie and Randy were sitting with their drinks at their usual table. They were small talking about something when Randy noticed that Charlie wasn’t following him anymore. She was busy staring towards the dance floor. So he turned in that direction searching the dance floor. But he couldn’t see anyone they knew. He then turned to Charlie and asked, “What are you looking at?”

Charlie shook her head saying, “I don’t know there’s this guy…”

Randy lifted an eyebrow. “Are you checking out somebody else?”

Charlie laughed a little. “No! I’ve got all I want right in front of me!” She leant over to give Randy a little peck before saying, “It’s just that guy over there reminds me so much of John Ross Ewing.”

“Who?” Randy didn’t follow her.

“Lucas' cousin,” Charlie explained. “You know JR and Sue Ellen’s son?”

“Oh right. But isn’t he younger?”

Charlie waved her hand saying, “Yeah. You’re right. I think he’s only 16 so…it’s not him. Just somebody who resembles him,” Charlie agreed, yet she couldn’t shake the feeling that she knew that guy on the dance floor. So she cast one last glance out towards the dance floor just to make sure he was not someone she knew.

Out on the dance floor John Ross caught on to the gorgeous brunette checking him out. He smiled to himself. What a hottie! He then checked her out more closely. Oddly enough she seemed to remind him of someone. Someone he knew from way back when. However as the music turned to a slow song and Paula rubbed up on him, he shrugged it away turning his full attention back to the gorgeous blonde in his arms.

“So are you enjoying yourself?” Paula asked.

“Oh yeah,” John Ross said and nibbled on her ear.

Paula laughed a little, “Great. So do you wanna get together tomorrow then?”

“Um…I would but I’m having lunch with my parents.”

“I see,” Paula said a little disappointed. “But maybe afterwards…”

“No we’re gonna plan Christopher’s birthday party next weekend. It’ll take all day. Then in the evening we’re going to my grandparents for dinner,” John Ross told a half truth.

“Oh. Need a date?” Paula asked in a flirty tone.

“Sure,” John Ross said. “I’d love for you to come to the party!” Paula looked surprised as she had meant the evenings dinner. “It’s next Saturday and…”

“Fine I’d love to come. After all I’d like to meet your parents,” Paula smiled. John Ross didn’t have time to reflect on what she had just said as she went on. “However that only leaves next Friday for us to be alone then. So what do you want to do?”

“What do you have in mind?” John Ross smiled.

“Well maybe we could…come back here?”

“Sure,” John Ross said. “I’ll meet you here then.”

“Yeah unless…” Paula let her hands wander down his back, as she rubbed up against him seductively. “You wanna meet up at my place first?”

John Ross grinned, kissing her neck and saying in a husky voice, “I’d love too.”

“Great, here’s my address,” Paula said and slipped a note down in the pocket of John Ross jeans. “7.30 okay for you?”

“Make it 8,” John Ross said and they exchanged a kiss.

I know people (like Lucy in your fanfic) who are only interested in "winning" the hearts of teenagers. They don't want to be the "bad guys" by doing the responsible thing!

In this particular case, Lucy should have contacted Sue Ellen and JR before slipping John Ross "lose" at the night club. It should be John Ross' parents who should decide what (if any) consequences their son's deception should have. It shouldn't have made a difference, if John Ross would have put in the doghouse.

Great updates from the night club with Charlie/Randy and John Ross, respectively! :cool1 However, I'm not much into these characters, so I will pass on giving reviews today! Hopefully, you'll understand, Karin! :)

Thank you for the comments everyone. It's much appreciated. :)

MissTexas1967, I'm looking forward to hear what you think once you've caught up. :)

Ms Southworth, I think it's easy to say what Lucy should have done. However considering what her character is like and what kind of relationship she has with John Ross, JR and Sue Ellen I think her reaction in this circumstance was in character. Of course not doing the responsible thing will come back to bite her in the butt later...

Okay so here's tonight's update:

The Arrabell mansion was located outside of Acapulco in Mexico. The property was surrounded by big stone walls with barb wire and surveillance cameras. The front gate was being watched by security guards and there were snipers on top of the roof. This made the place seem more like a fortress than a home and it was very obvious that whoever lived there wanted to make sure that only a few selected people had access to it. Inside of the house was a man sitting behind a desk. He was of Mexican descent, was rather well built and had black hair pulled back in a pony tail. The man was Lorenzo Arrabell. His eyes were dark and full of anger as he looked over at a man standing in front of him. “What do you mean she’s left the country?”

“I am sorry Mr. Arrabell, but your wife left the country with some refugees,” the man said.

“So she’s in America?”

“Yes.”

“Damn!” Lorenzo cursed. “If she goes to the cops we’re screwed.”

“I’m aware of that boss.”

“You find her and bring her back here, you hear me?”

“Loud and clear!”

The other man left and Lorenzo picked up a photo of Martha Marchetta from his desk. He traced her face with his finger as he said, “You better kept your mouth shut bitch, or it will cost you!”

Okay, I really don't like to say this, but John Ross' character is just terrible and cringeworthy. We basically have a spoiled horny teenage boy who wants to screw with twenty-something women and who can be downright hostile to seven year-old girls. I'm beginning to think that John Ross has anger management issues, because someone at his age should just be able to shrug off the kind of thing that Rebecca and Margaret did instead of going into a screaming rage like that. I wish all of the girls he hangs out with could see him like that, because maybe that would show them what a loser he can be. I don't know if this Paula is just incredibly stupid (Paula: "I know that you are nineteen." Me: Okaay. Care to explain how you "know" that?), or if she already knows about John Ross and is just tricking him so that she can dump him later (her comment from chapters ago about the Ewings could be a giveaway if that is the case). But I do know that I wish that this thing with John Ross and Paula would just end already, preferably with him NOT getting laid. I liked Melissa a lot better than Paula, but sadly, there is probably some truth in JR's comment about John Ross losing interest due to having to wait for her to put out for him.

The Jenna plot is starting to have a bad TNT Dallas vibe. I honestly don't care what happens to Martha, so can we please just have Jenna end things with Ray already and have Lucas meet the rest of his family?

Great writing in the latest scene from Mexico! :dance:All of the descriptions were detailed in a way that made it easy to imagine what what going on! :)

However, this is not the family drama series of "Dallas" that I grew up with. It appears to be a scene from a completely different show or movie! :( It breaks my heart to be this honest, Karin, but it seems like somewhat of "desperate" move to stretch the storylines so far in order to keep Jenna's character on the show! I have to agree with Presea: it's time for Jenna to divorce Ray and move on with her own life!

On a side note, it would have heen a different situation, if the Mexico storyline had been somehow connected to, for instance, JR ... ... or Katherine ... ... or a cartel member! :hat:

I'm counting the minutes until your next update! :wait: It's so much easier to write reviews after you've taken me to the moon and back with my favorite Dallas characters! And there are quite a few, just so that you know!

Please update soon! :best:

Thank you for the feedback everyone. It's much apprecaited as always. :)

Presea,
I can see why you find John Ross unappealing. He is acting like a teenage brat sometimes who is crazy about girls...
But he is his parent's son. Although in one way he is nicer than his parents because unlike his dad he would never force himself on a girl who doesn't want to be with him (like JR did with Holly Harwood, Laurel Ellis etc.) and he won't cheat on his girlfriend like both his parents were cheating on each other. So all things considered, yes he is immature and he can be a jerk. But at least he has limits too that he won't step over.

Lucas meeting with his family is coming closer...

Ms Southworth, well the original Dallas had some bad guys too. I mean just think about BD Calhoun...
Anyway the Martha plot is a new plot that we have developed when we revised our story. Orignally Martha was used completely different for comic relief and it didn't work so we needed to develop the character into something else...

So well Jenna would have been on the show regardless of the Martha plot.

On a side note, it would have heen a different situation, if the Mexico storyline had been somehow connected to, for instance, JR ... ... or Katherine ... ...

I agree and how do you know that they won't be involved somehow?
You really don't know where this plot is going yet...
So stay tuned and you might end up surprised...or not...:giggle:

Okay so here's tonight's update:

Back in Dallas, Texas.
A very drunk John Ross was standing outside of the club making out with Paula. As she broke the kiss she said, “I better get going.”

“Yeah me too,” John Ross slurred.

Paula kissed him again, bit her lip as she tasted the alcohol in his breath, and said in a concerned tone of voice, “You’re gonna get home ok?”

“Yeah my cousin’s is picking me up. So are you gonna be ok?”

“Yeah I’ve ordered a cab. So I’ll see you Friday?” John Ross nodded and Paula gave him a heart stopping kiss before pulling away saying, “Bye.”

“Bye!” John Ross slurred, as he looked longingly after her.

However next minute he heard his cousins’ voice call out to him, “John Ross!”

John Ross turned towards Lucy car, walked unsteadily over and got in saying, “Hi Lucy!”

Lucy wiped away his breath before her eyes widened, “Oh no! John Ross you promised me you wouldn’t drink!”

“I haven’t had that much,” John Ross slurred. “Just some Bourbon!”

Lucy sighed, “Oh boy.” She leant her forehead in her hands, as she regretted ever having agreed to this. She could just imagine what JR and Sue Ellen would say if they found out and who they would blame. “Are we in trouble!”

“What?” John Ross slurred.

Lucy started up the car saying, “Coffee, we’re going for coffee!” Where as she drove away in a hurry, biting her lip wondering how she was gonna avoid everyone finding out that her little cousin was all drunk!

To be continued...

Uhh, just one out of many of the horrible storylines from the double-digit seasons! :brick::frustration::eck:

I have no doubt about that (as she was your sister's favorite, right?)!

End of episode 10 with a drunken John Ross! Never would I have guessed that! :giggle:

Please don't wait for too long before you start posting the next episode, okay? :bowing :best:

Great update! :)

IMHO, there's nothing charming about John Ross as a drunk! :embarrassed: ... ... or any other teens for that matter! :mo:

I was happy that there'll be no DUI's! :gotcha: It's just terrible risking not only your own life but also the lives of others when attempting to drive while drunk! :(
I chuckled at Lucy's last line: “Coffee, we’re going for coffee!” :giggle:

Oh, I hope that not only John Ross but also Lucy will get what's coming! :( Yes Lucy, you are both in trouble!

Please update soon! :love6:

PS. I'm trying to imagine how Lucy was able to lean "her head in her forehead"! Oh wait, did you mean to write "hand" instead of "head"?

Eavesdropping is probably not the girls' finest idea, but the language John Ross used in front of them was unnecessarily harsh. :eck:

I've caught up now. Comments are from memory as I didn't make notes.

I still find Jenna to be a bit selfish and not very maternal with Lucas. She brought him overseas for one reason, stayed longer for another and is now changing the boundaries again. I know he's only a child, but he has feelings and he has a life, with friends and a cultural upbringing of his own. To him Italy is home, it's what he's always known, Texas isn't home and I can totally see why it wouldn't be either, Jenna and Charlie basically interact with him the bare minimum they can get away with.
Jenna really needs to make a decision regarding Ray and act on it. Reach out, contact him, sitting around waiting for him to just show up is achieving nothing. It's also kind of selfish of her to not even make contact with the Ewings in Dallas, she doesn't know any of the other stuff going on at Southfork, so it's not like she's staying away because of Pam or something.

I enjoyed the JR/Sue Ellen talk in the car, I do feel like they've almost given up on the act of parenting and replaced it with supervising though. They can allow John Ross to be a teenager and enjoy himself without also seeming as if they support his actions. It's one thing to accept that he's a teenage boy and he's interested in girls and sex but it's something entirely different to not do anything to even try to control the situation. If they aren't comfortable with him dating a college girl, they should at least try a little harder to make that clear instead of assisting in the actions that go along with that. I feel like at the moment they barely even acknowledge openly that they (Sue Ellen) feel some lines are being crossed. He's in high school, they can ask him to at least remember that and act accordingly, there'll be plenty of time to date college girls soon enough.

On the topic of John Ross, I wish more girls would reject him like Melissa, he's starting to get full of himself and that's dangerous. Sex and a loving relationship can co-exist, he doesn't have to be all sex-minded all the time. At the same time too, one day he's going to see a nice girl he actually has emotional feelings for who expects a lot more than he has to offer, because he's so used to thinking about the physical act only. He'll have to mature one day, I'd hope that day is coming soon.

Mexico so far just reminds me of TNT Dallas and that's not a positive thing, sorry.

Thank you everyone for the feedback on my story. I really appreciate it. :)

So are you ready for episode 11?

Something tells me that you are. So I'll kick it off in the next post... ;)

But first...

Ms Southworth, I'm glad the cliffhanger surprised you. Although I must admit drunken John Ross is not our best cliffhanger! :innocent:
You are right that Lucy is in trouble too. She made the mistake of trusting John Ross. She won't do that again!
Also I agree that drunken teenagers are not cute. But unfortunately it is common. I remember that a lot of my friends were drinking when we went to parties in High School. I didn't though since my parents had made a clever deal with me. If I didn't drink or smoke they would pay for my driver's license when I turned 18. :)

I have no doubt about that (as she was your sister's favorite, right?)!

Yeah right, Jenna was my sister's favorite character on the show. :)

Tommie, yeah the girls shouldn't have been eavesdropping and John Ross does curse like a sailor!
But I think the argument sort of shows that all siblings fight and I don't think it's unrealistic.

Miss Texas1967, you make some valid points about Jenna. I guess we sort of wrote ourselves into a corner with her. I guess a part of the reason is that when we first began writing the story Jenna, Charlie and Lucas were not in it as we hadn't reached those seasons yet. But then we saw the episodes with them and decided to add them to our story. They first appeared at the very end of episode three and we decided to keep them away from the plots at Southfork. In the revised version we wrote them in earlier. But their plots still has to remain separate from the rest of the Ewings until the moment we originally had them interact, which will happen in episode 12.

I guess the reason Jenna won't go to Southfork though is because she's avoiding Bobby...

I'm glad you enjoyed JR/SE's talk in the car. You know JR doesn't have a problem with John Ross dating college girls. Sue Ellen does but I think experience has taught her not to interfer with John Ross love life.

You are right that John Ross will have to grow up and he will develop emotional feelings for a girl in this story too...

Too bad that you don't like the Martha plot so far...
Then again I guess most fans of the original Dallas didn't like Dallas TNT that much... :(
Sanda, I'm glad that you still enjoy reading my story. I hope this update will help take your mind off things just for a moment. :hb:

Shan, thanks. :bh:

Episode11.jpg

It was Saturday morning and everyone at Southfork Ranch was still fast asleep, except for two little girls who were sneaking into the kitchen. Margaret and Rebecca looked over their shoulders, since they knew they were about to do something that was not permitted. Margaret bit her lip anxiously, “Do you see anyone Rebecca?”

“No the coast is clear,” Rebecca smiled before they sneaked up to the refrigerator, opened it and dug their hands into the four big bags of candy. They took out a handful of candy each, ripped off the wrapping, ate the candy and dug their hands back in.

“Hey!” Miss Ellie’s angry voice interrupted them. “What are you two doing?”

“Um...nothing ma’am,” Margaret blushed.

“Oh really?” Miss Ellie asked sternly. “So if it’s nothing what is that candy paper doing on the floor?”

“It must have fallen out,” Rebecca said innocently.

Miss Ellie picked up the empty papers saying, “Without the candy?” Miss Ellie closed the door to the refrigerator. “Girls, you know you’re not supposed to eat this candy. It’s for Christopher’s pool party on Saturday.”

“I thought they were going to swim,” Rebecca said.

“Yeah and if they swim they shouldn’t eat anything, they could get a cramp,” Margaret informed Miss Ellie.

“But that’s what Christopher wants so he can save the girls,” Rebecca rolled her eyes. “He has to get himself a girlfriend.”

“Rebecca shame on you for talking like that,” Miss Ellie scolded Rebecca. “Now you two get out of here and don’t touch the refrigerator without permission, have I made myself clear?”

“Yes grandma,” Margaret and Rebecca hung their heads in shame before they left the kitchen. Miss Ellie shook her head in amusement, as she watched them go.

Yippi! :spinning: The first scene of episode 11 has been posted! :love6:

The titel of episode 11 is interesting! :) I wonder if there is going to be a masquerade ball at Southfork? I have no doubt that Christopher's first serious crush is coming up, and I'm looking forward to it! :jolly: I really hope that he will find a sweet girl and also that he'll know how to treat her right!

Quite a short intro scene, but I'll take what I can get! ;) And it was a cute scene in which we got to experience Miss Ellie at her best! :yep: Funny that the girls attempted to steal some candy! Part of me kind of like that Margaret has loosened up somewhat and is beginning to behave like a "normal" 8 year old girl. Especially since going on a candy hunt is quite harmless! :giggle: And yet, Margaret slipped back into her old self, once the girls were caught red-handed! (when she shared her knowledge of the "dangers" of mixing swimming and food!) :lmao:

It was real easy to imagine BBG doing this scene for real! I have no doubt that Miss Ellie would raise her voice a bit to ensure that her granddaughters knew that she was serious! :Clol:

Hilarious that Rebecca thinks that her older brother should find a girlfriend! And also that her gramdmother scolded her for saying that! :rolling:

I loved the ending: "Miss Ellie shook her head in amusement, as she watched them go." You wrote Miss Ellie just perfectly! :jolly:

Please update soon! :best:
