She came; went and almost conquered but it didn't end well for the seductive Madame Malec, towards the end of the all go 7th season. Alas no cigar for Ursula's flirty blonde temptress. John Callahan and David Selby must have had a blast, working with the former BOND girl.

Maggie and Richard hit the sack before Mr. Channing allegedly meets his maker, in a gripping finale, (a scene from season 7, 1987 – ’88):

Maggie: "Sometimes this bed just seems like an island. A safe island, pirates can't get us."

Richard: "Where's the buried treasure?"

Maggie: "I found the buried treasure."

Richard: "Oh"

Maggie: "Didn't I tell you I found the buried treasure?

Richard: "No."

Maggie: "Buried very deep. I had to dig for it inside one Richard Channing. And it was pure and solid gold. Gold."

Richard: "You're too, too romantic."

Maggie: "No such thing".

Richard: "Yes and too beautiful."

Maggie: "Oh you're too charming. Tell me more. Talk to me".

Richard: "There's not enough time."

Maggie: "Oh yes there is we've got all the time in the world."

Richard: "You gave me the greatest gift a person could ever receive."

Maggie: "Yes?"

Richard: "You taught me how to love. I just wish I could have given you something as wonderful."

Maggie: "Oh Richard you did. You gave me yourself. You gave me your secrets. I was locked in a world of pre-conceptions and flannel pyjamas. You woke me up Richard. You woke me up and gave me wings. I think maybe we..... flew a little close to the sun once or twice. I have no regrets. And I'll never stop loving you. Never!"

I thought she was a curious signing. I can understand adding someone like Gina Lollobrigida to the cast for a few episodes because her high profile would get people tuning in specifically to see the actress. I would say the same for Ava Gardner in Knots Landing and Alexis Smith in Dallas but I really can't imagine many people would switch on Falcon Crest specifically to watch Ursula Andress.

I always wondered if someone like Ursula was more about appeasing the European audience rather than try to boost the American one. She definitively still "feels" like a name here, but not so much in the US perhaps. I could also see Lorimar reasoning that it's important to try and keep the sales up for the show in Europe in order for it to be profitable.

Another point I remember thinking about is how on a podcast with the producers of Beverly Hills 90210, where they stated the standard for signing on a contract with a recurring guest star was 3 episodes, I assume to give the guest star some sort of guarantueed pay but also the show some flexibility when it comes to storylines. I wonder if Ursula could've had her stay extended (not that I necessarily want it and it was probably for the best considering Freilich ended up being like a sugar high child getting bored with his toys at the end of his run).

It's been a long time since I've watched season 7 and I genuinely thought Ursula Andress had appeared in more episodes, maybe eight, because I remember how relieved I was when she turned up dead in bed.

I checked who also only guest starred for just three episodes. Leslie Caron was just there for three episodes and I had thought it was maybe six episodes. Susan Blakley was there for just three episodes as well. Too bad she wasn't cast as Lauren and only had a brief stint as Michael's ex-wife instead.

Absolutely right. Susan was a very good actress and very pretty.
Unforgettable as Julie Prescott in Rich Man Poor Man
She was absolutely wasted on Falcon Crest

Rich Man Poor Man
was the first thing I saw Susan Blakely in and I don't think she was unforgettable at all. In fact, when I first saw she in Falcon Crest my first thought was that there was Julie Prescott from Rich Man Poor Man.

Coincidentally, the first thing I saw Susan Sullivan in was Rich Man Poor Man Book II in which she played another character called Maggie.

As we Spanish say for tastes there is nothing written
And when you saw Susan, did you think of Maggie Porter?
Anne was not similar to Julie, neither in the hairstyle nor in the character
I guess for many viewers the first time we saw Susan was in rich man poor man.
Both Maggie and Potter were too serious and older when compared to Susan.

Yes, and before Falcon Crest, I also saw Susan Sullivan in The Incredible Hulk and my first thought was she was Maggie in Rich Man Poor Man. My perception of her only changed once she was in Falcon Crest and subsequently when I see her in another production I no longer think "that's Maggie Porter" I think "that's Maggie Gioberti".

Susan does not look like Maggie, she is still single and when the series began she had had several partners
She has never had children.
She has a strong character, one of the screenwriters of her seventh had nightmares about her
She is very funny and flirtatious.
It's a shame that the writers of Falcon Crest pigeonholed her into a long-suffering housewife
From what I have read the roles that she has done in other series
Susan Sullivan Katherine "Kitty" Montgomery, Greg's flamboyant mother in the comedy Dharma & Greg
And Martha Rodgers in Castle have freed him from sweet Maggie

I would have liked Susan as Lauren for 3 episodes only. I also think Ursula Andress should have been in S#7 Dynasty (1986 to 1987 season), Cora's friend.

In case you haven't heard, Ursula Andress recently experienced a drama in her own life that could have happened on Falcon Crest, but now there might actually be a happy ending.
