A merger of the four, for charity.

Let's just say the four American prime timers of the eighties (the so called 'decade of greed') all came together for a 5-10 minute scene, in aid of a common good i.e. a charity like 'Live Aid'. They all had their fair share of boardroom battles and lavish parties, which could have been incorporated into the short episode, if done with respect to the charity.

Three characters from each show would've featured in the 5-10 minute episode. Who would you have chosen? The characters I'd have selected:

DALLAS: J.R., Bobby and Sue Ellen.

DYNASTY: Blake, Krystle and Alexis.

FALCON CREST: Angela, Chase and Maggie.

KNOTS LANDING: Gary, Abby and Karen.

The baddies all in one room, for charity.

The Southfork Rodeo is underway and Sue Ellen claps eyes on Mandy Winger. The ex Miss Texas discusses J.R. with his new woman Mandy; (a scene from season 8, 'The Dream Season', DVD-9, 1985 - '86):

Sue Ellen: "Mandy, I know J.R. every which way there is to know him and he's never going to change. Never! He's going to use you, like he uses all the others and then he is going to walk out on you, never to come back."

Mandy: "You really want me out of his life. Don't you?"

Sue Ellen: "Not for the reasons you think. I don't want him back. Mandy, I'm telling you for your own good because J.R. destroys every woman he goes to bed with. It's by the grace of God that he didn't destroy me. Don't let him do it to you!"

Mandy becomes emotional: "Thanks for the advice. You'll forgive me if I don't take it because you don't know what the hell you're talking about!"

Sue Ellen: "Isn't it strange how the mistress always thinks she's smarter than the wife? If she's so smart, why is she the mistress?"

I think there could have been a crossover movie that could be done now, as a way to give all four closure. Abby Fairgate and Alexis Colby could be in competition to win over Richard Channing, but he winds up falling for Sue Ellen, who finds herself very much in love for the first time since losing J.R.

The latter part I did it in one episode of my fanfic "Ewing Empire". But Swellin sort of told him to f*** off.

I always thought it might be interesting to merge the four through the guise of a nation-wide singing competition (second rate, lounge act singers). From Dallas, Afton could attend. From Knots, Cathy Geary. From Dynasty, Dominique Deveraux, and from Falcon Crest, Apollonia. None of those were ever main or top billing, so they would not have been getting top profits. A competition would mean tensions and perhaps catfights. Each person could have the people close to them from their respective series showing up to support them in the different rounds in supporting roles. And maybe there could be some sort of organized crime connection financing the singing competition in order to bring out some of the villains from the respective shows, as cameos, of course. I think it could work without seeming too contrived, if such a competition would draw applicants from all over the world. The year might have to be fudged, since Apollonia was only on 1985-86. That would work for Cathy and Dominique, but Afton was off Dallas then. It could be VERY interesting if Afton was there, trying to hide a pregnancy or an infant, to which JR would discover and try to exploit, of course. Any thoughts?

A fine idea @Lotus Point Tundra Torque. Imho it would too close to call, as regards the winner. If I was a betting man the toss of a quarter would be between Cathy and Afton, with all due respect to the DYNASTY and FALCON CREST stables. I would say that would even be the opinion of most jurors.

The DALLAS girl with her signature song

Pam is in Bobby's office, to begin her oil business work and you know who is not a happy camper, (a scene from season 8; DVD-9, 'Pam's year long dream', 1985-'86):

J.R.: "What the hell are you doing here? Don’t you have any respect at all? This is my brother’s office. Nobody’s supposed to be here."

PAM: "Calm down, J.R. If you want me to go to another office, I’ll ......."

J.R.: "I don’t want you in the building."

PAM: "Well, that’s too bad because you and I are partners now."

J.R.: "That may be so but I don’t want you hanging around here."

PAM: "I’m not hanging around! I’m going to be working here right by your side, every day of the week."

J.R.: "You can’t be serious."

PAM: "What did you think I meant last night at the ball?"

J.R.: "I don’t know what you meant but I’ll tell you what I mean: I don’t want you in my sight, much less my offices. And I always get what I want."

PAM: "Your threats aren’t going to work. I’m here to stay, so get used to it."

Pam then contacts Phyllis, through the intercom.

PHYLLIS: "Yes!"

PAM: "I’d like a cup of tea. A cup of herbal tea, please."

She then looks across to J.R.: "Do you want anything?"

J.R.: "This is no sentimental game, Pam. You’re in the big leagues now. And you better hope you can handle the heat, because you’re going to get plenty of it. And that’s no threat. It’s a promise."

I've always wonder why at least the three shows from Lorimar (Dallas, Knots and Falcon Crest, didn't have a big crossover at the end of the eighties when audience begin decrese ? I know there was some plan but it unfortunately never came to screen...
