Any fans of "All Creatures Great and Small" in here?

The original series aired 90 episodes on the BBC from 1978 to 1990.

The new adaptation airs on Channel 5 and has just been renewed for two more seasons:

I've never been a big fan of the original, maybe that's why I'm open to the new one and I quite like it.

The new series has been running here for a few weeks now and I am quite enjoying it, although it's one of those things where I ask if it really needs to exist.
I don't remember the original well enough to know if the individual episodes are being remade but knowledge of the overall arc gives me the feeling of watching a rerun.
As an aside, Helen might be the obvious love interest, but personally I find Mrs Hall to be by far the more fetching. :)

That is the same for me. I never had any interest in the original and whenever I caught clips I automatically felt it was slow moving and overall boring.

I pretty much became hooked on the new series after the first episode. I’m sure that says something about me and the age I am. As great as the new show is, I don’t think my teen self would appreciate it in the same way.

I love fast paced, psychological thrillers, crime and horror in most of f my shows, so it’s nice to have something that is jolly & easy to watch. I had the same appreciation for DOWNTON ABBEY.

I am enjoying the new series.

I also like the original series.
It co-starred Peter Davison who would become the Fifth Doctor Who
Christopher Barry directed a number of episodes. I believe that he directed the first Daleks story in 1964
I can't confirm it, but I once read that Ridley Scott was a production assistant on that same Dalek story

I also watched Mr Selfridge when I started the new All Creaures Great and Small and both Samuel West and Anna Madeley were on Mr Selfridge. I like both characters/actors there so it took some time to accept them as Siegfried Farnon and Mrs Hall but now I'm happy with the casting.

It was very nice to see Diana Rigg on TV one last time. I was surprised that her character, Mrs. Pumphrey, was recast in season 2, rather than dying off-screen or just not being mentioned anymore.

Diana Rigg was such a great actress. Emma Peel on the Avengers was one of TV's all-time great characters.
"On Her Majesty's Secret Service" as Countess Teresa Di Vicenzo

A Doctor Who connection - "The Crimson Horror" (2013) with daughter Rachael Stirling. (Matt Smith Doctor)
where she gave a compelling performance and
the movie "Last Night in Soho" in the cast with Matt Smith!

See the movie "Theatre of Blood" she plays the daughter of Vincent Price's Character.
It is a British Horror Comedy, where VP's character seeks revenge against critics who humiliated him
It is well worth a look

Diana Rigg was one of the first female action heroines, and in my opinion, still the best

I liked Diana Rigg in The Sentimental Agent. That episode first aired on the night that Doctor Who first aired. And playing her character’s father was William Mervyn, whose son, Michael Pickwoad was Production Designer on Doctor Who, when Diana Rigg guested.

I’ve met Peter Davison several times. Patrick Troughton guest appeared alongside him in All Creatures Great and Small.

I think I prefer Cathy Gale to Emma Peel. I prefer the greater conflict plus the shadier Steed in the earlier series. I met Honor Blackman a few times. The last time was at a Bond event (and other shows), where I walked away with a signed picture of her Pussy. Katy Manning and Lalla Ward were there too.

You are quite fortunate to have met so many Doctor Who icons!

The classic series was indeed something special.
The 2005 return was quite good until 2017
I am hoping that the return of Russell T Davies as the showrunner can
make the show regain its quality and popularity.

Maybe I will start a thread in the future that describes how the BBC
has ruined the show and disrespected its fans over the fast +/- 5 years,
but that is for another day.

Oh, I’ve met William Russell, Peter Purves, Anneke Wills, Deborah Watling, Wendy Padbury, Tom Baker, Frazer Hines, Colin Baker, Paul McGann, Pearl Mackie, Billie Piper, Sophie Aldred, Sarah Sutton, Janet Fielding, Mark Strickson and more… And guest stars like Julian Glover, Jeremy Bulloch, Simon Fisher-Becker, Garrick Hagon, Peter Wyngarde, Jeremy Wilkin, David Graham, David Bradley, Michael Troughton (I have signed copies of his biographies of his father), Angela Douglas, Michael Cochrane and more.

I didn't meet as many as you. I met Colin Baker, Mary Tamm, Louise Jamieson, Terrance Dicks, Katy Manning, Jan Chappell from Blakes 7.
I would add that Katy Manning gave an emotional and heartfelt tribute to the late Roger Delgado, when asked about her memories of him.
For me, Roger Delgado is the definitive Master.
