Alternate Southforks

No.

Only the former Duncan Acres ranch should be Southfork.

I will not accept any other property as Southfork.

This image sums it up. If only it was possible to use some kind of whitchery pokery or black magic to conjure up our much missed original Ewing family.

Any place could be Southfork as long as they were all together. We could learn to love another little ranch (Of course Duncan Acres always will be iconic though)

And if the likes of Leslie Stewart appear then that rope might come in very handy!

I have to agree with this statement now after all these years but I actually did prefer the ranch used in the miniseries. To me it will always be the original Southfork, not the most famous obviously but I hold it in high esteem. It’s kind of been lost to history now but I still find it iconic as it is officially where Dallas began.

Leslie Stewart always was a bit highly strung!

Now's her big chance to get strung up! :)

Although Duncan Acres will always be Southfork to many and the most iconic, I have to agree I always preferred Cloyce Box Ranch.

So eerie and mysterious but so imposing.

Nah...Looks way too much like a plantation house.
I don't see it like that. I think it suited the mini series and fitted in with the bleak winter at the time. I loved how the darkness of the interior looked (studio) At least it looked large enough for the family.

I would liked to have seen it with a large pool on a bright sunny day.

Duncan Acres was more suited to those sunny outdoor scenes round that little pool.

The Duncan Acres ranch is visually more beautiful than the design of the Cloyce Box ranch.

Yeah I know the Box ranch was the original Southfork but I will always love the former Duncan Acres ranch and besides Southfork is mine and none of you should ever forget that I'm the true heir to Southfork since my Grand Mother Miss Ellie left the ranch to my Father, Bobby James Ewing and I'm his biological son. :)

I found this one I like a lot:
When I first looked at this property my go-to thought place was Denver or Montana. It has a style which looks like it belongs in the mountains. It's just a feeling I get. But for me it was and will always be...

I just love this house and hope one day to build it. The interior of course will be styled on the housed used from 4800 Parker Lane.

But perhaps more convincing as an oil baron's mansion, especially in Texas where "bigger is always better".
The neo-classic plantation style should indicate that this was an "oil family with class" which, I guess, is the same as buying expensive antique paintings just because they're expensive antique paintings.
It also looks like a more comfortable place to start a dynasty which I'm sure is what Jock wanted.

However, the panorama in which the second house is placed looks prettier, imo.
