Yeah they were much the same height.

Both Jim Davis and Steve Forrest were nearly the same height as Patrick Duffy too so they could look directly into each others face. Which if you watch the episodes were Jock (Jim Davis) confronts Bobby at the bar and where Wes is confronted by Bobby in season ten they are very much face to face.
