My favourite player is Venus Williams and would really like for her to win this year. Her game is up and down but on a good day she can beat anyone, however on a bad day she can lose to anyone too. If she can keep her matches short her Sjogren's syndrome should have less of an impact on her game and she could progress a long way in the tournament and even win it. However, my head tell me that Angelique Kerber will win.

Again another head vs heart choice for the men's singles. I'd really love for Rafael Nadal to win as he's had such a hard time coming back from injury and it would be great for tennis if he was back to his best form. My head tell me it will be Andy Murray though.

My "head" choices, Kerber and Murray, are out but my "heart" choices, Venus and Nadal, are still in there. I've never really liked Andy Murray so I'm kind of glad he lost.

I'd be happy if either of the Williams sisters won but Venus has always been my favourite. A Venus vs Serena final would be ideal.

On the men's side, Rafael Nadal is still in there, as is Federer, and they could both meet in the final which again would be my ideal final as they are my 2 favourite male players.

I've probably just put the kiss of death on their chances.

Id like to see nadal win the mens tennis

ladies tennis doesnt do it for me = all the grunting puts me off, and asides from the Williams sisters im not really au fait with Who is who these days??

I take it Chris Evert and Martina have retired lol Steffi too, thats when i last liked ladies tennis lol

Venus is in a Grand Slam final again after all these years. Her reaction to winning her semi was so adorable. Seeing her and Serena in the final is amazing, like a retro final as they have been meeting in Grand Slam finals since the 1990s.

Federer also in the men's final, we just need Nadal to make it there too and it will almost be like we were in the last millennium.

The retro finals are on!

Rafa Nadal is in the final with Roger Federer: they first played against each other 13 years ago and their rivalry continues. In the women's final, Venus plays Serena and they first played a professional match against each other 19 years ago. At the start of the tournament, if I could have picked the 4 players I wanted to compete in the finals, they would have been my choices. I'm kind of happy whoever wins but I think it will be Roger and Serena that do it but I would really like it to be Venus and Rafa.

Angela Serena won the Australian Open and I hope Rafael Nadal beats Roger Federer, because I really don't care for Federer.

I'm sorry that Venus didn't win but after all she's been through with her health problems she did well to get to the final, especially as she's 36, relatively old for a professional tennis player. Both players gave lovely speeches after the match, they are great champions and their parents must be so proud.
