This show became a joke over the last season ... so it all doesn't really matter anymore anyway.
Season 2 had some good episodes. But overall it was not to my taste. I mean, it wasn't even a guilty pleasure anymore the moment Falexis appeared. I mean, how can a show credibility can recover from that ? Like Dallas never recovered from the dream season trick. It even hurt the genre at the time.

If we are to believe yet another 'personal issue' cropped up that dictated another actor leaving, it makes the producers seem very willing to let people quit. This flies in the face of logic, since they have to know that frequent recasts and departures can't be good for any show (or any business, for that matter). This show is providing jobs to (guessing) 100-150 people, so a good show-runner would not endanger the jobs of 100+ people by letting a key actor leave without a darn good reason . If they have personal issues (outside of work), most bosses at this level with so much at stake would simply tell them to solve their own problems on their own time, because the contract must be honored. As actors have been told for decades.
Producers typically hold actors to their contracts no matter how mad it makes the actor, or how it impacts the actors' careers. Hollywood is littered with stories about actors losing out on famous roles because they were already contracted elsewhere. Tom Selleck was lined up to play Indiana Jones but he was unable to get out of his Magnum PI contract to do the part...his life could have been totally different if the PI producers had been as loose-y goose-y with their actor contracts as the Dynasty producers seem to be.

You are right Daniel. But who cares if Ana Brenda stays or goes away ? Surely a few of her fans/follwers. But the reputation of the show is not quite good. It's not a n°1 rating show. It's not a premium cult show. Ana Brenda's absence won't change anything.
NuDynasty producers/CW either wanted her out, either they didn't mind to let her go.
Anyway, firing Nathalie Kelley was a mistake the first time. Killing Cristal/Celia was a big mistake too. Letting go Ana Brenda won't have much consequence I think, as she wasn't very popular as an actress, and the characters remains anyway.
Now I hope the CW/powers that be will understand that they need Steven in the family dynamic. He needs to be dna tested and Carrington proved. After all, there is no actual proof that Anders is his father.

I guess I just want stability more than anything else. As long as the actors arrive and depart with no rhyme or reason, they can't focus their efforts on building storylines that attract positive attention and thus builds ratings/viewership. To save a wounded person, the first thing you have to do is stop the bleeding. When you find yourself in a hole--quit digging! I have to cross my fingers that this Josh Reims person recognizes that they need to write more substantial stories with emotional impact rather than going from plot to plot (shock to shock) with no lasting repercussions. He also has the original series to look to for inspiration. Doing more 'modern renditions' of the plots from the original series would help build more of a structure to work from, rather than departing even further from the original series. And if he wants to build something resembling a following, they need to hold on to their actors rather than letting them leave (or firing them, or whatever).
I didn't have the chance to develop an opinion of A-BC, since I was still reeling from the death of Celia when they were already pushing Cristal into Blake's bed, and by the time they settled on her being "on Blake's side" (as opposed to possibly being out to scam the Carringtons) I didn't care if she was truthful, lying, or something in-between. I just wanted her to settle into her role as Blake's wife, etc. and see if they could lift her up to become a lead rather than supporting. It will be interesting to see if the new actress enters the series with billing as high as A-BC had. It might be an indicator as to whether they want her to carry more story (more in line with Nathalie Kelley's prominence), or if she will be the supportive wife and friend who loses her identity among all the larger-than-life Carringtons (as A-BC's Cristal seemed to be heading toward).

I believe you have identified the underlying issue with Dynasty. It lacks structure. But perhaps this updated story-telling of Dynasty had everything going against it by simply producing a poor imitation of the original. After this reboot is done and dusted it can be held up to TV Executives on how not to create a reboot. As many have pointed out on this forum; the Dynasty story screams prequel. This of course would require talented writers, directors, actors and more importantly, high production values.

Look at what happened recently when Fresh Off The Boat got unexpectedly renewed for another season and Constance Wu went on Twitter to moan about it because she had been looking forward to doing other things; the ABC president even bitchingly remarked that she'd "see her at the table read". They definitively could've held Ana Brenda to her contract and I doubt the show will last past season four - season five maybe if we're lucky, so they probably wouldn't have to worry about her bailing after her contract was up.
It just makes me think that there had to be more to it - I said earlier that I suspect that they had hoped she'd bring some telenovela audience to the show and in the end the dreaded "focus groups" didn't like her, among other things they were probably annoyed with her heavy accent hence them casting someone who doesn't have that.

I think I've finally figured out what NuDynasty is all about. It's not about creating a good Dynasty (let alone a better one) - they only want to do more.
The good stuff has to better, the bad stuff has to be worse. The recast mess in the original has to be even more ridiculous.
I'm pretty sure that everything has been carefully planned from the very beginning, it has nothing to do with incompetence.
But it will probably take us a few years to understand the sheer brilliance of this show because the satire isn't in the story, it's the show itself.
At some point I could even see this becoming a critically acclaimed cult hit.

Willie don't let the sheer brilliance cloud your judgement. It's a dud. If new Dynasty was meant to be satire it has failed. If it was meant to be taken seriously it has failed. Sad to say this reboot, led by millennials, will be forever known as how not to create a reboot. It's car crash television and I'm okay with that.

The writers have decided. And they felt they had to put it under our nose with Adam saying "I'm really enjoying this new tough Cristal vibe" and Blake saying she's a "badass"
I don't complain. It means they have (I hope) a direction for her.
Not to pat myself on the back or anything.
