Could Robert Urich have been Chase Gioberti?

We all know that Robert Foxworth was Chase Gioberti on Falcon Crest for its first six seasons (1981-87), but a thought occurred to me: do you think that Robert Urich (whose ABC action/detective series Vega$ had ended that year after three seasons [1978 to that year]) could have played Chase at least as well as Foxworth did?

Although Robert Urich was a great actor and I could have imagined him on "Falcon Crest", I think he would have looked too young to be cast as the father to Cole and Vickie.
Indeed-- 35 then, compared to Foxworth who was 40 at the same time.

Urich was too lame. Too boring. He could never have pulled it off.

Imho Robert Urich might not have been convincing enough, as Chase. Maybe THE LAZARUS MAN would have made a good Sheriff, after the departure of Floyd Gilmore. Robert Foxworth played the sanctimonious and morally upstanding Chase Gioberti, to a tee.

Chase and his millions of grapes. To grape or not to grape. In the end Angela always had a higher production output, with her typical Falcon Crest wines. Chao-Li made sure of that.

Chase has just returned from the hospital, after getting shot outside delusional maniac Wainright's cabin. Angela arrives at the Gioberti castle, to see how he is doing; (a scene from season 6, 1986 - '87):

Chase: "That bullet hit my back, not my brain."

Angela: "No one would ever guess!"
