I was just coming to say this. People have to realize that all networks tend to apply the same formula to all of their shows (it's why a straight-up soap opera was a bad idea for TNT and why the show quickly started gravitating towards crime drama). The CW is no exception. This will be relatively short scenes, lots of popular music, music-video editing, and an intense focus on YOUNG. You can't forget this is trying to appeal to the younger demographic, and everything about it will lead to that. There will be NO melodrama. It won't be highly dramatic or OTT. They'll go for 'hip' and 'cool'. I'll be VERY surprised if it's anything else.

Which makes perfect sense because, from the very beginning, they made it clear that Fallon & Krystle Cristal will be the main focus. That's why they cast someone that still looks like a teenager. It also makes me wonder whether they ever plan for Alexis to come on permanently or have as big a part as she did on the original. It's actually kind of doubtful (although I'm sure they won't resist bringing her on, if only for the publicity). Considering the age of their young leads (Fallon and Cristal), they want to focus more on anyone in that generation. Blake and Alexis (if she's ever a regular, lol) will have occasional scenes, along the other "grown ups," and maybe even miss an episode or two every now and then.

Also, the age difference that would have to be between Cristal and Alexis doesn't please me. They'll look sorta ridiculous. Add on top of that the racial undertones, which the show is building itself on...
All the reasons that it's going to be AWFUL. LOL

Perhaps Cristal could die in the first episode, this Dynasty starts with a murder mystery. Corny, I know, but it's the only way.
Phew! I just saved Dynasty:spinning:. You can thank me here or by private message.

I think this Vampire girl is exact to Linda Evans in a way...She seems to use the same eyeliner that the latter used when she was on "The Big Valley"...Maybe there´s still time to turn this crappy project into a "Mad Men"-style prequel instead and the Vampire girl may play Kystle when she arrived in Denver from Haleyville (ooops, wrong blonde!). If you want to start a petition, I can vote there with 3 different email addresses...anything for my Dynasty friends!!

Exact twins...? Ahem...
PS: Judging from the internet pics (true or fake), Miss Kelley would be more apt to play Alexis instead. Who are they gonna cast as Alexis, Pamela Anderson?

Just from going on how perverted the choices were while making the original show it wouldn't surprise me if the Shapiros decided to forgo the Alexis character altogether. It would be wonderfully passive aggressive. Alexis wont run away with their show this time!!!

Oh, I'm DEFINITELY watching. 1: Because I can't resist. 2: Because it will likely be a huge mess, and I gotta witness that. 3: On the tiny, slight, minuscule chance that it IS good.

Regarding CW...i habe one word...Ringer.

A show that was supposed to be on CBS but got put on CW anyway. The show was a well writtwn and produced primetime soap...but cause it didnt get the young demo...it was cancelled...even though it did well in DVR..and rated decently.

Exactly why it's the wrong network for DYNASTY.

Makes me wonder, what is it that young people like to watch these days? Are they still interested in scripted tv drama when everything's "happening" on reality shows and the internet?
I'm really curious about that.

My question is why do they think the young demo matters? If it's for advertising where do they think all these youngsters are getting the money to buy whatever is being hawked in the ad breaks? Usually people in their late teens and early twenties are a little strapped for cash!

Heh, I remember back in high school, it seemed there were plenty of kids who had money to throw around (not me, I was one of the poor kids ). That became especially apparent during one of those stupid pep rallies where they auctioned off senior students to have lunch dates with younger students. A lot of the seniors got pretty high prices - especially one particular dude who got two girls in a bidding war, and all their friends were rushing over to hand them extra cash so they could win. Eventually both girls were declared winners and they each got to take the guy out.

Of course, that was 10, 11 or 12 years ago. Maybe the economy was different then so parents could give their kids bigger allowances?

But one thing that occurred to me earlier today, something that could justify Cristal being in her early 30s: Fallon and Steven being teenagers.

I mean think about it, first of all, it wouldn't really affect their characters, given how childish and spoilt Fallon was, and how Steven was basically a lost little boy when the original show started out. Plus it would mean neither of them has to get married or have kids right away. They can remain free and single for longer.

And not only that, but if Fallon and Steven are younger, that means Blake and Alexis get to be younger as well. If Alexis was 20 when she had Fallon, and if Fallon first appears as a 17-year-old, then Alexis would be 37, only 5 or 6 years older than Cristal (meaning a catfight between them wouldn't be ridiculous at all - if its handled right, of course, haha). As for Blake, he could be in his early to mid 40s, which would help better sell his romance with Cristal.

So yeah. Just a random thought I wanted to share.

Hers is definitely reminiscent of Linda's beautifully intense, powerful-under-any-lighting bone structure. I see it.
