Dallas cast guest appearances on Knots Landing summaries

I've posted videos before from the Cool Channel Network who makes very fun and sometimes insightful reviews of Dallas episodes. He's now up to season 4 and I recommend checking them out. However, since there are plenty of Dallas fans on here who never watched Knots Landing, I thought I'd post his reviews of the Knots Landing episodes which have guest appearances from the cast for those interested in what JR, Bobby etc. got up to over on that show.

Although there were guest appearances up until season 4, as there are only DVD's for the first 2 seasons he'll only be including those. So far he has posted these 5. Not sure if there'll be any more.

Admittedly (and regrettably) I didn’t catch very much of Knots back in the day but I do enjoy seeing these crossovers from the early years of the show. I think what I like best about it is the fact that they weren’t overdone, so when someone from Texas did show up in California it actually meant something. It had a special event type feel to it.

Some of the crossovers were fun. I laughed as Karen got up into JR's face with , "looks like we are enemies" as if he should care. Lucy and maybe Ellie should have crossed over when Valene had that Cancer scare. Never understood why they needed Kristen to crossover. I did however liked that scene between Valene and Kristen though. Some have speculated that was a way of redeeming her. If so, it did not work.

Yes Ellie is the one that really should have appeared at least once. Considering how much she adored Gary, and if she was willing to head off on plenty of holidays and cruises with Clayton, surely a short little visit to California would have been doable. It would have been great to see a few scenes with her and Lilimae too.

I think it just gave the character something else to do until her eventual return to Dallas for one last run. Her first run there was over and that type of character usually has a shelf life.

For the fans watching Knots at this time, was Kristin’s past ever revealed while she was in California? Did Gary ever find out she was his brother’s shooter? Was the father of her first baby that she miscarried ever discovered?

Loved Knots Landing on original airing and have enjoyed the few times it's been repeated. The cross overs were good but never quite as good as they could have been.
Karen was never afraid to mouth off at JR.
I always wanted Sue Ellen to talk JR into letting her go with him just once!

To me, the best crossovers had scenes with JR and Valene together. Those scenes were always electric because they disliked each other so much. And Hagman and Van Ark had great onscreen chemistry.
