I'm surprised that no has really mentioned Angelica yet.

I didn't see Angelica as frightening nor menacing. She suddenly dropped into Dallas as an Alexis Carrington clone and it didn't work. Katherine on the other hand was superb to watch because we had a front seat to her unraveling over seasons rather than episodes.

But Maryann, I'm surprised you didn't mention how frightening Mark could be with that hideous mustache!

OK, I just have to ask out of curiosity, what about Mark's mustache was "hideous"? Maybe you just don;t like mustaches at all, but supposing you don't think all mustaches look bad, what would Mark have had to do differently regarding the way his mustache was groomed for it to look the best it could have looked?

I voted BD Calhoun because he was willing to use a child to get to JR.

I also say Gil Thurman he was so sleazy, I found him revolting.

It was just so...big. And yes, I don't really care for mustaches. But Mark made up for that with his charm!

What charm??? He was cheesy and desperate to win Pam's affection, always coming around even when she didn't ask him to before her divorce and after (thinking he is God's gift to women cannot see or understand why Pam didn't immediately fall for him when she first saw him and after her divorce from Bobby. He always reminded me of Alex Ward not that good looking, loaded with lame " pick up lines" an annoying presence only difference between them was Mark was little less smarmy.

How could he be cheesy? He didn't even like to eat quiche (cheese pie) LOL Seriously though, would you provide a couple examples of him being cheesy? "Cheesy" is one of those words I've never quite understood the meaning of in this context. Maybe if you could cite a couple examples of when he was cheesy and say why it was cheesy of him, I could finally better understand what cheesy is supposed to mean when used in this context. Understand how a song or TV show might be cheesy, but I don't quite comprehend how it applies to actual people. Thanks!

I suppose much like beauty, charm is in the eye of the beholder. To Presea, Mark had charm and to you, I suppose he didn't. I'm a man so my opinion doesn't really count on this kind of stuff (I know women often say about other women "Oh, she's so pretty" but guys don't say about other guys "Oh he's so attractive and charming") LOL!!! All I can say is Mark strikes me as basically a good guy. By my ethics he made his move on Pam a little soon but then again she didn't mind to too much - after all, she could have told him never come back and she didn't.

Thank you Presea because I honestly didn't see anything wrong with his mustache but now that you mention his mustache being so big, yes, I can understand your viewpoint.

You know who I think was frightening? (Keep in mind that I don't think Dallas was really a show that had very frightening characters). Michelle Stevens! I found her sense of entitlement frightening in theses that she just seemed to be so screwed up mentally that she honestly believed the world owed her a wealthy, luxurious lifestyle and yet, what did she EVER do to earn it? First she just shows up at April's apartment and lets herself in without even calling!!! The when April comes home and discovers Shelly there, Michelle doesn't even apologize for showing up uninvited, or thank April fr allowing her to stay there anyway. She just expects it! Then when they're working on the nightclub that she and April were gonna build, Michelle says she's been working her "whole life" for that type of opportunity. That is such BS! Michelle hadn't been working for anything. She didn't even go to college. She was a high school graduate who expected to become a multi-millionaire overnight. Her expectations of what she deserves from life and what life and what April owe her are so warped!!

I must be one of the few that liked Mark. His first introduction to Pam was in Miss Ellie's presence wasn't it? He immediately felt an attraction to Pam, and who could blame him. It doesn't matter if a person is married, single or on the verge of a divorce sometimes we feel an attractiveness to someone. I thought he was a good match up against Bobby, both physically and financially. This I believe unsettled Bobby more than Mark. I also liked how Cliff and Mark bonded. For the first time in Dallas history we had a bromance.

By this time Dallas had a good balance. I thoroughly enjoyed the scenes between Cliff, Afton, Pam and Mark. I'm not sure if it was the writers intentions or not but we had a secondary family developing between these four (five if you added Christopher, six if you added that evil half-sister Katherine).

I never found Michelle frightening except for the scene where she killed Sheila Foley. It was as if all of her frustration and anger finally just exploded, and even though I don't condone murder, I do believe that it was understandable for her to want revenge for her sister after what Sheila did to her. It was, in my opinion, a very powerful scene that showed the tragedy on both sides. It was a rarity to see something that I actually thought was good by then in the show.

I love watching all of the Mark scenes (except when he made Pam faint in the dream, that kind of creeped me out.) on Dallas. There was just something about his demeanor that made me always think "He is so great!"

I voted for Roger the creepy photographer in the poll, but the all time scariest character for me was Jeremy Wendell. He made my skin crawl. Scared the sh*t out of me with those cold, expressionless, reptilian ice blue eyes (shudder)

I don't think that even alcohol affected Jeremy Wendell! That is pretty frightening!

It's hard to equate any Dallas character with being frightening but one of the scenes that came closest was when Angelica murdered Nicholas with her hair pin and then calmly walks to a mirror, coolly wipes the blood off it and nonchalantly puts it back in her hair.

These, these were the most frigthening (and non-existing, unnamed) characters: those white ones that probably had a camera inside filming the Ewings´ secret talks by request of Jeremy Wendell or some other creep...

That's nothing compared to the piece of art from JR and Sue Ellen to Jock and Miss Ellie. An Italian sculpture wasn't it. Jock's reaction was priceless, JR's less so. "Where did you put the card Sue Ellen?". Sue Ellen replies, "In the box JR."

What about that weird glass sculpture (I refer to it as the "erotic" sculpture) that JR gave to Sue Ellen in season 5 (dvd)? That thing was downright terrifying! I don't blame Sue Ellen for shattering it into pieces!

I agree. That scene packed punch. I'll have to go back and watch the season leading up to Katherine mowing down Bobby because it appears she disappeared there for a while. What was the purpose of the blonde wig? Was she attempting to set someone up? And did everyone know here that Morgan was pregnant when that scene was filmed? I wonder if her pregnancy had any affect on the story that season.
I would guess that Katherine wore the wig because she was a wanted criminal and couldn't risk being recognized around town. Although how she would expect Bobby to be okay with everything is beyond me. Morgan was pregnant with her daughter, Katherine, at the time that was filmed. Also, I heard that a different actress did the newspaper ripping and throwing stuff at the TV scenes. I know that Morgan had to leave because she was pregnant at the time, but I think it was also because her contract was up, too. I don't know if she would have had a chance to renew it if she hadn't been pregnant. What I've never been able to figure out was why she only stayed for two episodes in season 11 (dvd).

The least frightening of the list for me is Kristin, the most frightening is hard to say. Everyone has something very scary about them. With people like BD or Morrissey you notice it straight away, while Katherine or Sheila were good at disguising it.
