I'd say that it went way past just being inclusive. It was irresponsible and foolish of him to fawn all over Omri for owning a company that supplies a product that leads to under the influence driving and harder narcotic use and be proud that Omri was going to name a product after him. Pot is not harmless, they are looking into whether pot use contributed to psychosis in school shooters.
I have no problem with the pot shop fawning. When you're adoring best friends with Haggie, it's to be expected. There's no way PD didn't partake in some of the drug use, drinking and women.

I think sometimes we all are guilty of seeing virtuous Bobby Ewing when we look at Patrick and assume he's the same. In many ways, I think that's given him a lot of free passes in his life since DALLAS and he gets the, "oh that's just Patrick" shrug when he says something crass, sexist or just behaves like a petulant a$$.

Please call me when this forum becomes the place it used to be, filled with people who loved every bit of "Dallas" but could be critical in a creative way... :fp::hide:

True, he probably did. I just see it as him setting a very bad example for his young grandchildren.

Saying "We could have been together in 1978, but we missed the boat." IS incredibly disrespectful to his late wife and their sons.
Wow, why have you responded to my post with this? And with capital IS? I only said I hoped Patrick wouldn't intentionally be disrespectful.

Anyone would think I said it for him.

I'm judging him based on seeing him at a reunion and meeting him twice.

Let his sons and his conscience be his judge over those comments!

Regardless of whether it was intentional or not, what Patrick said was disrespectful to his marriage and kids because he was a married man with a young son in 1978, not some single guy who was free to.pursue a relationship with Linda. I do apologize if you don't approve of how I expressed my opinion.

I only brought up the distasteful and dismissive comments Patrick makes as a comparison to show his consistency. His private life is his business until he says lame crap and then it's fair game for discussion. ;)

When Victoria is by his side, Pam was the best in his opinion. When Sheree was by his side in @Karin 's interview, Pam was dismissed as "pig stick nutty" and April was the best. When Priscilla is by his side, Sheree gets ignored and not even invited to the panel interview. When his real gf Linda is being discussed, his wife is suddenly just a hurdle he needed to get over to find the best....he's a man of consistency!

Well if memory serves me he said Pam was "pig stick nutty" to leave Bobby.
I think we can all agree on that Pam was always the one who left Bobby. It was never the other way around. Also the plot of Pam surviving that accident, being hospitalized and then leaving Bobby really didn't make any sense at all. I still suspect Katherine was involved and if she was Bobby's male ego was wounded too much for him to see things clearly and he was the one who gave up on Pam. Not the other way around. But that's up for discussion.

Then as for Patrick's private life. I am glad he's been able to find love again after his wife's death and that he is happy. But to claim that his new love is the love of his life is stretching it a bit. I mean he spent the most years of his life with his wife so IMHO that would make her the love of his life. But I am not one to judge him. Nobody can really know what it's like to be in a relationship with someone except for the two people who are in that relationship. So it's really nobody's business but theirs.

Nope, he said "you'd have to consider Pam an unsuccessful marriage but that was because she was pig stick nutty".

If it's nobody's business but theirs, they shouldn't talk about it during public interviews. Doing so makes it fair game for discussion. They're trying very desperately to get a Hallmark or Lifetime movie about their relationship made...it would seem. Shhhh, nobody tell them, they'd have younger actors portray the roles (which I don't agree with).

Yikes that's odd watching a piece of my own interview cut out of context like that. I do remember that Patrick tried to save the situation by elaborating that it was because Pam had left Bobby that she was "pig stick nutty". But yeah I learnt a new expression that day and sadly I predicted correctly that this piece of the interview was going to become the most talked about. I was right, a decade later we are still talking about this!

How exactly is it out of context? He didn't walk it back. Sheree just asks why April would ever leave Bobby. Patrick just sits there like a smug, pompous a$$.

We're on a forum dedicated to a show that ended 31 years ago so a 10 year old interview is modern.;)
