Will the remastering make the later seasons "feel" any better now that they look so good??
I think so, al least for me. I mean, you can still watch them muted and put some nice, relaxing music over it and just enjoy the beautiful pictures and think "aaaaaww, those were the days!"

We've waited 36.4 years for this...!

Good things come to those who wait.

I just wish that THE EARLY YEARS had been filmed at The Box Ranch, in keeping with the 1978 mini-series.

And that that EARLY YEARS' barbecue where toddler Bobby meets teenaged Pam (because, y'know, Victoria's way older) wasin the late-'50s because the early-'50s date for the barbecue makes no sense, especially if the tykes were both born in 1952, as the series told us in 1980.

Details, details...

For the 1933 part of this movie they used the Box Ranch, for the 1952 part the Duncan Ranch. Both dates are not congruent with the ages of the protagonists.

As GOD awful as it was I hope they include TNT Dallas. It would be great to watch Dallas: The Early Years, followed by Seasons 1 to 14, then the movies followed by TNT Dallas. I can not get enough of the Ewing family.
I thought about that as well when I typed that last post and I guess I have mixed feelings on it. I want to say include it because it’s all part of Dallas to me but then again TNT Dallas was so far removed from original Dallas that it really wouldn’t bother me if they didn’t include it.

Ok, WB channels have started on tubi. the content is also available on demand. so far: daktari, jericho, babylon 5, scarecrow and mrs king, la femme nikita, spenser: for hire, eight is enough, third watch... where is KNOTS LANDING? HARRY O? MIDNIGHT CALLER? I mean JERICHO 1966? Really? P.S. Daktari! My childhood!

I think eventually you will get most of that remastered, if not all of it. It seems as though everything is getting the makeover these days little by little. If they’re remastering shows that are so obscure and largely forgotten I would say that gives us hope on a lot of the more popular stuff. It may take awhile for many different reasons but it could still happen.

Buried deep within a story on read today on an Australian news website was an article discussing the streaming giants pulling series at random. These could be new, as commissioned by the streaming site or older shows/movies. Within this story it was mentioned HBO Max reasoning for pulling series is because of the rumour Warner Bros could be starting up a free, ad-supported streaming service. Could this explain why Warner Bros has invested dollars in getting Dallas digitally remastered? This would make sense to use the daddy of all prime time series to draw viewers in. This then bodes well for others like Falcon Crest and Knots Landing.

I hardly use streaming anymore. That market is getting more and more split up and everytime i open a streaming app on my devices, i'm just overwhelmed by the sheer quantity (NOT quality!) of content. I start scrolling and scrolling and just can't decide and after a while of desperate scrolling i'm just giving it up, go to my shelf and watch something from my DVD/Bluray collection instead.
I really hope i can add the Dallas bluray set to my shelf some day soon.

An interesting find from the Warner Bros' "WB100" site celebrating their 100-year anniversary of the studio, which coincides with the remaster of DALLAS.

On the home page of the site (www.wb100.com), under the FAN FAVORITES section, Dallas is listed right alongside their most beloved brands! Hopefully this bodes well for some more fun Dallas festivities, as it is also its 45th anniversary.

P.S. - another Texas favorite "Giant" (also a WB film) is getting some love, too, amid the WB100 celebration. Just enjoyed a re-release as well, now remastered in 4K, overseen by Steven Spielberg.

That definitely bodes well for fans of Dallas. I highly doubt they’d put Dallas on the front page next to Harry Potter and Batman if they didn’t value the property.

On a side note, it’s nice to see a nighttime soap opera that started in the late 70’s get this kind of attention and that it continues to have enough fan support to warrant a HD transfer.
