...you mean this?

Yes that's it, that's the same as the DVD, not sure how it differs from the original airing? Mine have been in storage a long time now so didn't check beforehand and i was quoting comments from a different site.

Thanks for the upload Rove, what a dramatic, atmospheric scene and still a difficult watch for me to this day! The sequence of devastion that follows.....

Today, I took the first step to verify the allegedly cut scenes from the DVD set.

I confirm in my English version the 3 reported scenes are missing ... Ellie and Jessica in the kitchen, JR and Angelica Nero, the Krebbs family with little Lucas crossing Pamela's crashed car.

I should now check my VHS in Italian, but it will be difficult to put the whole reading system back in place...

And I confirm that in season 3 the lateral images of the actors in the theme song were in motion only at the beginning of the season. The remastering process has now made all episodes homogeneous.

--By "lateral images of the actors," I take it you mean the images on the sides of each cast member's card.

--Also, why would the remastering bring the earlier third-season episodes in line with the later ones where that is concerned?

I guess because it's just faster and cheaper to remaster just one opening credits version than two, and use this one for all episodes then.

Yep. Warner Bros did this with the first season opening titles for The Waltons as well. Most of the episodes end with a framed still of the cast, but the earliest episodes as originally aired don’t have the frame. In the HD versions, they all have the frame.

I find the page-long threads and nasty comments about slight variations in fonts amusing. These are, frankly, such minor errors that they are hardly noticable (if at all), and yet there has been very little pushback on the digital removal of hilarious crew reflections, looming boom mics, and dangling lights above Fake Southfork — all funny, and give the show character. Don’t prefer attempts to “perfect” the show by removing things like this!
