Does anyone else find Jenna Wade's weird obsession with Bobby out of place?

The way he dumped Jenna was wrong, but Jenna was being selfish in not wanting Bobby to have anything to do with "their" child. Come to think of it, what was Jenna's deal when it came to her children and Bobby?
I think her not wanting him to have anything to do with Lucas was just her response to him going back with Pam. She was hurt. If he had dumped her for anyone but Pam maybe she would’ve felt differently.

Nonetheless, Jenna’s handling of her children when it came to Bobby was peculiar at times. The whole not telling him the truth about Charlie when she returned and whether or not he was the father was very odd. I understand her reasons but it’s definitely something Bobby deserved to know the truth about sooner, especially since they were now getting involved again.

No, she was facing reality. Bobby can not be depended on to be a reliable father. Look what he did to Charlie. All this talk about I'm going to marry your mother and we will all live at Southfork ranch I love you like you are my own daughter goes out the door when Pam takes him back.

And I never saw Bobby "harass" Jenna. I did see him want to discuss the pregnancy with Jenna, which he had every right to as the father. As he said, "Shouldn't we talk?" It didn't matter that Bobby "had no place in HER life", he did have a place in LUCAS'S life. It was in Lucas's best interest to have Bobby involved in his life and decide for himself if he wanted to continue to have a relationship with Bobby when he was old enough. Again, Jenna's "major concern" was always only for herself, not what was best for her children. Tom Brady and Bridget Monahan are an excellent example of both parents doing what's right for an unexpected child and making co-parenting work. I'm sure that Bridget wasn't exactly thrilled that the father of her child married a supermodel instead of her, but she did the right thing for their son and let Tom be be as involved in his life as he wanted. Tom took responsibility and has been a very involved dad to their son, but didn't make the mistake of marrying Bridget just because they had a child together. And they both proudly share and celebrate their son's accomplishments with each other. That's what Bobby was trying to work towards with Jenna, but she was far too self-centered and bitter to allow it.
I believe the line he used Sooner or later you are going to have to talk to me. Sounds like a veiled threat. The man was a classic case for the need stalking laws. Bobby has zero rights to talk to Jenna. Bobby would be no benefit to Lucas.

There was no threat or stalking by Bobby, just bitter spiteful Jenna throwing a screaming tantrum because Bobby chose Pam over her as history had proven that he always would. She was deluding herself and Charlie that it was ever going to end differently. Jenna certainly didn't believe that Bobby "would be no benefit" to Charlie when she cashed in on using him as a meal ticket after years of leading him to believe that he was Charlie's father, and she saw how good of a father he was to Christopher, so she had absolutely no reason to believe that he wouldn't be a good father to Lucas too. As the father, Bobby had every right to talk to Jenna about what was in Lucas's best interest, but she had "zero" interest in what was best for her children.

Jenna's deal was that Bobby was a meal ticket to her.

When someone says stay away from me and you do not, I'd say you are stalking. When you make statements like You are going to talk to me when I do not have to, I'd say thats threatening. Bobby said he'd marry Jenna and she and Charlie would live on Southfork ranch as a family. He broke that promise. That he broke that promise to Charlie is his fault, not Jenna's so-called delusional thinking. He has zero rights to speak to Jenna. Now I guess he could have gone to court to attempt to obtain some, but it would seem he didn't want to be bothered. When Jenna foolishly let him see Lucas he soon stopped because Christopher was going through his every other week freak out over being adopted.

And when "someone" deliberately conceals a pregnancy from the father, she deserves to get called out on it by said father. That's all Bobby did, he didn't threaten Jenna at all. And when "someone" has her daughter's best interest in mind, she doesn't let said daughter believe promises that she knows will never be kept. Bobby absolutely could and should have pursued his parental rights in court, but he did what was going to best for Lucas and keep his relationship with Ray..

As much as I detested the Jenna character as played by Priscilla, I did feel sorry for her sometimes. Bobby pursued her relentlessly, even though he KNEW he was still hopelessly in love with Pam. When he proposed to her at the water park he had just said that he was confused about his feelings. Then, Pam bats her eyelashes at him and he say "sorry, Jenna. Buh-bye now."

I also felt for her when Pam had the audacity to ask for the baby. Rub it in, why don't you, Pam?

In the end though, Jenna brought a lot of it on herself. She knew deep down Bobby would never be reliable because he would never be able to let go of Pam.

Jenna had an important job:

If you believe that Dallas parallels a Shakespearean tragedy, then there will always be something to bring Pam and Bobby together and there will always be something to keep them apart. Jenna was supposed to be another reason to keep them apart.

It was a good theory: Looking back in time, Jock Ewing lived near Lucas Wade. They were both in the oil business. Jock had a son, Bobby. Lucas had a daughter, Jenna. Ever since those two were kids, people figured they would grow up and get married.

Jenna coming back should have been a compelling reason that Pam and Bobby would be kept apart. But when the writers tried to bring Jenna back it was just too clunky.
instead of things developing naturally, we were treated to different characters taking turns announcing "We always knew Bobby would end up with Jenna."

It was weird.

Jenna brought the horrid Charlie into the world she deserves to be vilified for that awful act alone

The only good thing she did was giving birth to me.

I might be estranged from her but she is my Mum.

I haven't seen her in years and severed contact years ago when both Ray & her dumped me in a Sanitarium. :(

So I guess Jenna can not trust Bobby, as he makes promises he doesn't intend to keep. Glad we agree there. Fortunately the law doesn't require such men to be informed of a pregnancy. He had no legal rights while Jenna was pregnant. Like Jenna said Are you pregnant, too.

Did the writers forget that the question of Charlie's parentage had been gone over season's ago?

Perhaps they forgot, or maybe they thought we had forgotten by then so they felt the need to remind us by doing it all over again. Of course there’s also the fact that Jenna #3 tells us that Charlie has never met her father, yet that too was changed from the earlier years so I guess the whole thing was a mess regarding continuity.
Dallas did that a lot - rewriting history.

She like CLAYTON and APRIL, plot characters. HAD no reason to exist other than to move the plot or obstruct something.
Had Morgan Fairchild returned as Jenna as she was asked but foolishly said no... we all would have loved her. MF was a strong actor in those days, tough and nuanced.
PP was a daytime soap actor. She was three speeds- sweet and innocent with Bobby. Jealous vixen with Pam and a weeping moron with Ray.... no nuance with her and I can't think of one storyline where she nailed a scene, made anything BETTER.... Blah.

I think that the original casting of Morgan Fairchild was perfect and her portrayal was outstanding. Jenna was hungry for much more than just being the ranch girl next door, that was the whole point. She wanted an exciting glamorous jet set life and was real competition for Pam, and that was Morgan's Jenna to a tee. Francine Tacker was a fine enough actress, and her Jenna was certainly better than Priscilla's, but she was still only second best. Priscilla couldn't act her way out of a paper bag, and they had to water down her Jenna so much that she was just annoying. Casting her just for her name value was a huge mistake, and I'm sure that they regretted it

She was still a gold-digger, that Jenna. But now, so many years down the road, she had to pretend she was not.

It's a skill.

Yeah, now that I think of it, I could say that I have met a lot of Jenna´s in my life, all pretending, in their mature years, they have always been decent... (Don´t tell Da Pig...)
