Maybe Netflix will save it ? But frankly, I don't give a damn, that show has never been able to be good for more than a half-season and it only happened twice (seasons 1B and seasons 4B).

The only one that's been mentioned so far searching for another home is Naomi, so I suspect CBS Studios might be happy getting five seasons plus 100+ episodes for Dynasty.

Good news is that they're only filming 5.15 at the moment, so they should be able to do a proper final episode (unless they're going to be stubborn and end it on a cliffhanger).

In some ways, it was (predictably) more competent than the original, but (predictably) ruined by being too facetious is a very tiresomely contemporary way.

It was one of the lowest-rated primetime shows for its five year run, and would never have gotten this far if it wasn't for the Netflix deal.... And given that Netflix is bleeding right now, could that be the reason the CW dropped nuDYNASTY?

At any rate, I stopped watching after the first couple of seasons. Fallon and Sam Joe were stars, but that just wasn't enough.

I gave up after the first couple of seasons, but my brother loved it. I'll never be "happy" for a show to be canceled, just because I didn't like it (that includes when DallasTNT was canceled). That's lame.

Anyway, hopefully for the remaining fans they'll at least be able to tie things up in a satisfying finale.

When the cancellation news broke, my first thought went to the horrifying finale of The Haves and the Have Nots, where all but one character in the main cast was killed off. The situation was different, of course*, but Dynasty has that whole Moldavian Massacre plot point that they could draw on. Would some angry producer opt to use that plot point as an excuse to send the show out in a hail of bullets and, unlike the original, everyone dies? This show is run by a committee of about 35 Executive Producers (give or take) so I cannot imagine them coming to an agreement to enact such a send-off, but stranger things have happened.

* HAHN was from Tyler Perry, who created, wrote, produced, directed, and did practically every task short of cutting the actors' hair, so when he decided to end the show, he likely felt they were "his" characters to dispose of in any way he wished. There isn't a similar "ownership" of this show by one person.

Now that it's topped 100 episodes, in addition to it being on Netflix, it can air in syndication on TV networks like TNT, E!, Pop, or others. So they don't need to continue producing new episodes. Which is unfortunate as this leaves me with pretty much no shows that I have left.

I was thinking that.

The CW Dynasty was like Neighbours in that despite low domestic ratings in their home country, it was surviving due to another deal. But like we've seen with Neighbours, that couldn't be sustained.

Nexstar primarily have an interest in buying the CW, because of the Tribune Media acquisition.

Tribune Media had a minority stake in The WB network, which as you know was a predecessor to The CW (along with UPN).

The two Tribune stations Nexstar now own in New York and Los Angeles, KTLA and WPIX, were previously WB stations, and now affiliated with The CW.

I'm mixed on it. It was a nice guilty pleasure, but not like the original was for me - I'm two episodes behind. I'm still sad to see it go. At least I've got House of the Dragon coming in August on HBO Max. Now that's a show I'm really looking forward to seeing.

Just re watch any episode again and again each week it’s the same as any new episode.
For me Dynasty ended when Nicolette left
The character started out so dark I thought they were actually going to make her a sociopath, causing a miscarriage x100.
Grant show was no Blake maybe don Johnson would have been better but grant was ok.
Raphael needs to find another show that needs a Sexless gay eunuch and elain (you didn’t get any love from me) needs to find a role for an average looking bug eyed but no acting needed character.

You needed to upmarket Alexis when you lost the og not downgrade.
You shouldn’t have looked in the bargain basement for such an iconic character

They kept useless characters like Kirby Culhane
Sam and Liam and got rid of crystal and Steven and lost Alexis with bad writing

I really wanted to like it, but i guess Dramedy is just not my cup of tea at all. I liked it, when it was exciting, serious and dark, like in the last few episodes of S1.
But as soon as the comedic and silly parts took over again, it lost me. I don't need that in a soap, i don't need silly jokes and stupid singing and dancing all the time.
I really wish they would have taken it a litte more serious, like the TNT-Dallas approach. That (despite it's flaws) was a proper soap for an adult audience. CW Dynasty clearly wasn't, it was aimed at teenage girlies, and that's why it lost me.
The final episode of season 1 was such a brilliant masterpiece and i loved it and still do! Why did they leave that path so quickly again? I don't get it.

Yeah, i like that show too. But it's for adults. That's the difference. They can be funny if it's still smart, but they shouldn't be silly. And CW Dynasty in it's majority was just silly, not funny, nor smart.
