Obviously derived from the old radio soap, Portia Faces Life, which was on in the 1940s and 1950s on American radio. There was an Australian version in that same period that (I believe) stayed on the air into the 1970s.

But with the windfall profits achieved, Rose Goering (who eventually marries into the American political Bush dynasty) just funnels the amassing fortune into a labyrinth of shadowy European organizations intent on establishing the Fourth Reich once again -- when and if that crystal skull buried somewhere under Denver is found and returned to Eva Braun.
