This reviewer over at BuzzFeed has seen the trailer and says they couldn't have been more underwhelmed. They say it doesn't look too expensive and the dialogue is not too sharp. And Fallon might not be great.

First impression? Awful. Another wasted opportunity to create something different to the usual run-of-the-mill teenage crap that Hollywood thinks the masses will swarm to. Did they not learn anything from TNT Dallas? I noticed the comparisons to TNT Dallas in opening titles and music. It's as if the writers have gone in with the mindset of tongue-in-cheek humour rather than adult comptemorary drama.

I took note in the buzzfeed article the following;
"The CW is very open to having actors from the original Dynasty guest star, which will surely generate a lot of buzz."
I take that statement as saying if Dynasty 2.0 begins to fail we'll parachute Joan Collins in as Blake's bitchy mother. That will make some posters here in soapchat very happy.

Wasn't she at a celeb cooking show once? If she can cook - how about Linder as new and bitchy Hilda Gunnerson (but still from Dayton, Ohio)? :D

...oh my gosh, this would be a GOLDEN opportunity to have that one idea play out, where Krystle/Cristal and Alexis or Fallon have a catfight in the mansion's kitchen, where they're throwing cakes and pies and other assorted desserts at one another, while poor Mrs. Gunnerson, who spent HOURS making said desserts, is running here and there, desperate to save her creations from being used as edible ammo. I'll bet Linda would get a kick out of doing that! :lmao:

Psh. My handwriting is too sloppy, nobody will be able to decipher it. No, it'd be better if they had a facebook page or something. Or if you like, you can go ahead and tell them the idea yourself - after all, I can't claim to be the originator of that idea, since I first saw it on years ago when the old series was still on youtube.

I hope Joan Collins takes nothing to do with this. She was iconic in the original, she doesn't need to do this.
