I have to admit Ms. Carrera was how I found Dallas. I watched a scene of her in restaurant with JR. I was 10 in 1998. I was in love after. I loved Never Say Never Again

Not sure about the first one I watched (pretty sure parents watched from beginning and I watched with them), but the first one I remember was Sue Ellen in that God awful swimsuit with that God awful sash signing that God awful song in that God awful voice during "Winds of Vengeance."

I’ve always felt that Lorimar should have thrown a disco beat beneath Sue Ellen’s performance and released it as a dance club single. Digger’s sprightly rendition of the Yellow Rose of Texas could have been the B side.

I’ve always been a bit weird though.

That's the first scene I recall watching as well. I first saw it during the initial TNN airings in 1996.

My earliest memory of a specific scene is Ellie saying to her long-lost brother, "it's been nearly forty years!" Then Julie Gray falling off the roof in the recap at the start of The Red File Part 2.
I did see most of the first episode when the BBC first showed it but don't remember any specific scenes and, after the promising music and titles at the start, I thought "BORING!" That was ten-year-old me. By the time I was twelve, my opinion had changed completely.

The two earliest scenes in my memory banks both have the kind of "action" which would grab the attention of a young boy:

  • The helicopter stopping Bobby's car after JR's shooting (Pam's exclamation of "Oh Lord" stuck with me as I didn't recall hearing that expression before)
  • Pam's horse being spooked by the rattlesnake in The Lost Child

The helicopter scene would definitely have been when it was first transmitted in Britain on 9th November 1980. Who Shot JR? had been everywhere that year and my family would have tuned in that night to see what all the fuss was about.

The rattler scene was on a repeat. I'd thought it was during a morning, but listings indicate this episode was repeated at 18:35 on 6th August 1980, so it's possible that's when I saw it, which would make it the earlier of the two memories.

I remember having a somewhat irresponsible cousin as a babysitter when I was quite small and being allowed to stay up for DALLAS and seeing someone fall to their death - it had to be Julie Gray trying to escape the clutches of the dastardly Jeb Ames and Willie Joe Garr. Not sure if it was a first broadcast or a rerun during the Who Shot JR summer.

Mine was love at first sight: I can remember Pam & Bobby in his red Mercedes and stopping at the gas station. For years I couldn´t rewatch the Pilot but that scene remained in my memory.
