In the 80’s my grandmothers watched these soups and being close to them influenced me. I remember one Grandma watching Dallas and Falcon Crest on Friday nights so I watched them. Originally it has been the Incredible Hulk in the line up with the Dukes of Hazard but that dropped and it was DofH, D, FC. The older I got the more I got into them and started recording them. My favorite was actually FC (until season 9). Very thankful I’ve been able to go back to the early years of Dallas (not as much with Falcon Crest as the early years imo weren’t as good as the middle).
Add I always tried to catch KL but on a Thursday night wasn’t going to happen much. I’ve enjoyed bits and pieces over the years.
Add Dynasty on Wednesday nights, that was with my other grandmother. I wasn’t a huge fan but did enjoy it with her watching it here and there. Of course the shooting at the wedding that was big and everyone watched it. Also glad for reruns, as the early years were great. I see why my grandmother originally like it.
But back to Dallas, I stuck with it until the end. I can’t say I was upset with the ending. Kind of how I saw JR ending up. As for the movies, they were ok. Nice to see characters again kind of thing. But for years after my grandmother and I would talk about Dallas and FC. And for my family Friday started with pizza and pop, only night if the weak we got pop in the house and a thing like pizza. We’d throw the crust to the dogs and watch tv while we ate (again only night we got to do that). We’d watch some reruns and ice cream and Dukes of Hazard and right into Dallas and FC. We had such great family nights together just unwinding watching tv together. Even my dad would stay up and watch Dallas.
