How to remove flag from avatar

I notice that beside my user avatar there is a British flag. I’m Scottish myself and don’t like that flag particularly - is there a way to remove it?

While there's no facility for us to manually change the flag, you can opt for your flag not to be visible to others if you would prefer:

• Click on your username in the blue bar at the top of the page
• Go to "Privacy"
• Use the drop down menu in "Allow members to view your country flag" and choose "Nobody"

Unfortunately (in this case) you would still be able to see the flag yourself. There is a way I would be able to stop you from seeing it, but this means you also wouldn't be able to see anyone else's flag, so let me know your preferences there.
