In memory of Howard Keel on his birthday

Howard Keel - born April 13, 1919 – November 7, 2004, would have celebrated his 105th birthday tomorrow if he had still been alive.

He was the nicest of men and my favourite Dallas actor off set, he was brilliant in concert and gave fans so much of his time. He will forever remain my Fav Dallas "older man" and Im so glad he came into the life of Miss Ellie

He loved his new found fame which he achieved as Clayton Farlow and the fact that it brought him a whole new army of fans, who like me, came to appreciate his older work on stage and in musicals. Thanks to DVD he will never be fogotten.

He loved his family, his wife Judy and golf - Bless your beautiful hide Mr Keel, you will live on in our hearts and memories for many a year to come.

Yes Howard Keel was an amazing actor as well as being a singer which surprised me when I first heard him sing. I would have preferred that he be cast as Jason Ewing instead. That might have been great to see an expansion of Jock's family.

That aside, the problem with the writing with Clayton was the same with Lucy, Katherine Wentworth, and Holly Harwood. There were possibilities that they could have gone with the character. The writers seemed to not know what to do with certainly characters after they are introduced. He should have kept the Southern Cross. Southfork was Ellie's home not his. I agreed with JR when he referred to Clayton as an outsider which is what he was. These are wealthy people so its not unheard of for them to have one residence. It was just Clayton and Dusty. I would have liked to have seen more members of the Farlow family.
