Some great stuff. I'm surprised you got so many details after all those years.
It surprised me too, especially since the editor-in-chief even called me back from a conference after not being able to reach me by phone. She really took the matter seriously. I was very pleased about that. I also mentioned that I'm working on the magazine article about Knots Landing and that the German broadcast should be considered. However, I kept that chapter rather brief, as I didn't want to discuss it at length in the overall report. It's a shame that ZDF, and especially their program service, didn't respond to the more specific questions.

It's interesting that you once worked in the SAT.1 archive. Do you have any further Knots Landing information from that time, or were you able to take any relics with you? PR material or anything like that?

I wonder if she is someone who has been around at SAT.1 since back then! Otherwise it would be very strange to have that kind of knowledge and dedication haha.

I worked in the on-air promotion department in the late 90s, up until the point where SAT.1 moved from Mainz to Berlin. So I wasn't actually working in the archive, I just liked to look at/for things during my breaks I couldn't take anything with me as the archive was "live" but to be honest there wasn't that much... the most interesting part were the letters I mentioned . Other than that there were mainly press kits (which you have a lot of), a few tapes with select episodes (probably meant to be used for promo editing) and a tape or two with short promos ("Under der Sonne Kaliforniens" - Gleich in SAT.1).
