I stumbled upon this by accident and hear no one talking about it:

I seriously doubt it. If they starting filming anything I think we would have heard by now. Sadly, wishful thinking. I didn't see any sources to this article either.

I’m just hoping in a few more years some of the creative people here will be able to create new AI versions of our shows. Fix New Dallas. Fix original post season 9. Fix Falcon Crest post season 5. Fix Knots Landing post Abby.

You know, to this day, I still can't quite come to grips with how badly Cidre did Dallas. What a missed opportunity. That said, I think I've said this before, but..at least we got that, even if it totally screwed the show up. Another season of J.R., 3 seasons of Sue Ellen..That familiar theme music playing again..21 years after it went off the air. Cidre didn't get everything wrong, but I wish they had found someone who had any appreciation or at least respect for the original. I guess it's true, though, that you can't go home again.

Out of curiosity, do other people here actually view it as a part of the original series? I mean, for me, the original show kinda stops with the reunion movies, but I mean...is it canon, not canon?? I can't quite make my mind up. Quite frankly, I almost wish nothing past 1990 was canon.

Oh, my dream is for AI to correct the Donna Reed debacle, remove the dream explanation (I have it all worked out), and to polish up the last three seasons of the original series. Guild rules be damned!

That was what was so frustrating about the nuDALLAS continuation: it wasn't 100% crap; just 50% crap.

But whenever they did anything that worked, it seemed to be by accident. And they never noticed.

The last half of Season 2 was the best nuDALLAS ever was -- with JR's masterpiece, and explaining what happened to oldPam (sorry, Victoria) leading Duffy to assert that the new show was finally finding its footing. But Season 3 was back to muckiness.

Yeah, 3 was pretty drab. I remember trying to get my then wife to watch the final episode that season with me, and at one point, she's like, "you realize this isn't very good acting, don't you?" You know..she wasn't wrong

a continuation may be dead, but whoever owns the rights is sitting on several already-conceived storylines with the “Middle Years”. In the right hands, the thing would pretty much write itself. If they want to add raciness, they can always grab some inspiration from the great Lee Raintree…

If we are going to fix Knots Landing post-Abby, could we just start at the beginning of 9? Asking for a friend who doesn't want the headache! ;)

Honestly, I'm sort of surprised we haven't had a remake (not a reboot). So many older shows (Magnum PI, Hawaii 5.0, etc) have been redone with new actors. An updated Dallas would be kind of interesting.
