Larry Hagman full interview on Wogan, 1980

Is this one of the first times Terry and Larry met? Starts off kind of awkward, like they're feeling each other's vibes, then it turns into classic Larry, jumping from story to story, never quite sure if he's serious. Good interview :)
Larry did seem quite nervous to begin with but relaxed into it after a while. I think he was probably a bit jet lagged and overwhelmed. He had just touched down in the UK 6 hours before and said he had to deal with about 300 photographers, and I'm sure countless fans as well. And this was at the height of Dallas mania and 'Who shot JR' so I'd imagine he was a bit blown away by it all.

Didn't he go to London during his re-negotiations? While Lorimar threatened to recast with Robert Vaughn or Robert Culp?

Maybe Larry was nervous that the executives might be dumb enough to do that.

I have a fitful recollection of this encounter when it was first shown. I was 8 years old at the time and was utterly mesmerised by the show, and by Hagman in particular. It’s great to see it again and to reflect how healthy and handsome Larry looks.

I read that grin and fourth wall held gaze just after the 25 minute mark as one of Larry's key moves in the chess game of ongoing negotiations:

Wogan said:
He's been shot. Does this mean, incidentally, that if you don't agree contracts the next series you'll be dead?
Larry said:
Well... that's just a chance we're all gonna have to take, isn't it?
