Minor Characters In Dallas You Recognize From Movies Or Other TV

not sure if anyone mentioned this but Talia "Rita Briggs" Balsam of Black Market Baby not only went on to marry George Clooney, but had an excellent supporting role on Mad Men as Roger Sterling's ex-wife (not to mention she went on and married John Slattery - no Clooney, but nothing to sneeze at!

Today I saw two members of the cartel in two different tv shows. First, I saw Paul Sorenson who played Andy Bradley in the 1978 Charlie's Angels episode "Hours of Desperation," where he played a fence buying a million dollars worth of diamonds, and I also saw Fern Fitzgerald, aka Marilee Stone, playing a relief bartender on a 1983 episode of Archie Bunker's Place. It was interesting seeing Fern in a different role. She was much more demure and less harsh than Marilee!

I have a question about three actors who only appeared as minor characters in seasons 13 and 14, but were still listed as Also Starring.

In season 13, Denver Pyle as Blackie Callahan was listed as Also Starring for only two episodes. Was he the businessman whose daughter dated James?

In season 14, John Harkins as Control and Clifton James as Duke Carlisle were each listed for four episodes as Also Starring.

Does anybody remember these Also Starring characters well? What did they do on the show?

How come in seasons 13 and 14, actors who were only in a few episodes were suddenly listed as Also Starring, while the actors of all the secretaries and children remained in the closing credits?

Joseph Campanella - the 'reformed' mob dad of Nicholas Pearce - had a hilarious run on Mama's Family as Thelma's boyfriend. I know he did a lot more stuff than that, but his MF role is how I remember him.

I also enjoyed him on Three’s Company when he played Chrissy’s father that just happened to be a reverend, the perfect foil for Jack and for the living arrangement at the apartment.

Just seen Colonel Decker from the A Team, as JR's shady oil tanker guy at the beginning of season 13... who also seems to be driving Mark Grayson's car

Joseph Campanella was a terrific character actor. He also had a recurring role in "One Day at a Time" as Anne Romano's ex-husband,
and he had a recurring role in the first season of "Mannix"

Joe Campanella didn’t play Chrissy’s father on Three’s Company; that was Peter Mark Richman (later Andrew Laird on Dynasty). Similar types, though.

Another one: Don Porter, who played Sally Field’s dad on Gidget, played Ellie’s love interest Matt Devlin in season 2 (original).

Yes, you’re right! I always got those two actors confused. Thank you for clarifying for me.

The Mason Capwell reference many posts above reminds me the first two actors to play Mason on SB (Lane Davies and Terry Lester) both appeared on Dallas. Lane helped Bobby put the screws to the cartel while Terry played a former flame of Kristin.
