Pre-Knots David Jacobs and Constance McCashin: Married The First Year

David Jacobs forgotten precursor to Knots Landing, Married: The First Year, has finally been rediscovered! The first episode is now on YouTube with lots of Constance McCashin, who plays the wife of one of the main characters.

The video quality is not great but it's worth a look for anybody who enjoyed the early years. It definitely feels like it could be an extension of that early cul-de-sac era. It only lasted for four episodes and I've always wanted to see a glimpse of it. Something like this would make a great bonus feature if they ever did a Knots box set.

So many familiar faces: Sid Fairgate's first wife; Patricia Shepard; Mitch Cooper; second choice for Lucy Ewing (who ended up as a sex worker on Knots). Plus L.B. Carrington's nanny and two of the Jaws 2 girls (one of whom would go on to work for Greg Sumner).

Some scenes do look - and sound - very Knotsian.
