I'm veering off topic but one of the reasons why I like Pointless over The Chase is that Pointless is more accessible because it not just about whether or not you know the answer like in The Chase, but whether you chose to give an obvious answer or go for a more obscure one. In most rounds you're able to answer at least one question so it seems less elitist.

@Angela Channing I got a couple of texts from school friends last month saying turn on TV, to Pointless - is that so and so that went to school with us?

So i did and it was! havent seen for a few decades but instantly recognisable, I just wish Pointless would cut the chat and make it a 30 mins show, i can do without Richard and Alexander spinning it out - if i watch its on iplayer so zip through a fair bit of "banter"

With Pointless, I love that it rewards knowledge for being more trivial or obscure, so it's great if you get a round that's a topic that really suits you.

Some of the rounds can be killers, though, if it's a subject about which you know very little. If I were to be a contestant, I'd be more worried of making a fool of myself on Pointless if I got something like sport or monarchs for my first round than I would about getting a couple of wrong answers in the cash builder on The Chase. I know a couple of people that can't get their head round the premise of Pointless, even when I've explained it's basically Family Fortunes in reverse.

I love both shows for different reasons. In recent weeks I'm opting for The Chase while I prepare dinner because I'm a bit fed up with Richard Osman's ubiquitousness (not that Bradley Walsh isn't, of course, but Osman's omnipresence bothers me more for reasons I won't rant about here).

Jerry Jones is the longtime owner of the Dallas Cowboys. He actually made a cameo in ‘NuDallas’, offering Bobby his condolences for JR’s death. He’s almost a legit answer!

there’s a photo in this article: https://www.dallasnews.com/news/201...s-fictional-villain-j-r-ewing/?outputType=amp

ah, found the scene on youtube!

I don't know who those two with Xs are even now.

And I'm assuming Bryce Howard (Ron's actress daughter) was included because she usually goes by her full name: Bryce Dallas Howard.
