I think bringing Steven back will make it difficult for the writers on what to do with Adam, especially if Steven can prove to the family what became of him. But has his name even been mentioned this season? Has Anders made any effort to seek out his son? Has Kirby - you know, the one who appears to have a sixth sense about people - sought out her half-brother? This is where Dynasty fails on many levels. It doesn't even attempt to apologize for not revisiting its own inept plots.

Kirby, sixth sense about people? Since when? If anything she's terrible at reading people, bless her heart.
It was established that Steven has pulled this disappearing/no contact thing with the family before. Last time similarily when he was having trouble with drugs and started doing charity (that's also when he reconnected with Alexis at one point).
I hope they'll revisit Steven eventually. I have the feeling it might happen to turn Alexis against Adam, but I guess it depends on if James McKay is available... with that said, the canvas is full at the moment so even if they do plan to go back there I could see them waiting for a while since they're just getting the fight over Carrington Atlantic going.

Honestly I never cared much for Steven or the actor, that being said I also cant stand him just being gone, hes in a mental institution for alleged suicidal tendencies the fact that no one cares or has really talked about it for what is about a year is just ridiculous. Either kill him of or bring him back for a final goodbye (and please not another recast)
Yes. it's so horrible that absolutely no-one tries to reach him, to take some news, to see how he's doing.
I think it's a writer thing : maybe they still don't know what to do with the character, or they don't know how to solve what happened between him and Adam yet. So they prefer to do nothing, till they do their next move on te character. What I mean is they don't want to do anything that might contradict their future plan. When they have one. So their "ignore mode" is their solution so far.
What I would do is to use that plot weakness to turn into something :
Steven has realized that no one gives a damn about him. No one called or checked on him. So now that he is getting better, he doesn't want to do anything with his family anymore and couldn't care less that Adam is messing with their lives. Steven feels that till the moment he was not a Carrington anymore, Blake and his family didn't care any more (well, would he be wrong to think so ?). So he has decided to move and to stand for him now. He will start his new life, and his political career (as the ex show runner hinted for Dynasty season 4). His family will try to reconnect with him... And it will be not easy.
