Would It have worked slightly better if in season 10(DVD), they would have had Sue Ellen go to a rehabilitation clinic off screen for a short stint, and then had her come back and still do the Valentine/Mandy revenge? I know a lot of people are bothered, myself included, in losing all the realistic struggling and fighting Sue Ellen went through in the dream season to get sober. No, having her go off screen to rehab in season 10 wouldn't have brought all that back, but it would have made her sobriety more plausible than it was written after the dream. Obviously, I can see why they couldn't do the same story-line again, so would this have maybe at least helped a little, or just pointless by this time?

I used to work in drug/alcohol detoxification and treatment. One issue would have been Sue Ellen's living condition. Although it was more prevalent with drug abusers, it was frequently advised for people completing the program that they not return to the same home (sometimes even town) that they were living in when they entered treatment. People with drug problems tend to have friends who also have drug problems. Same with alcoholics. Now I am trying to think of some way to integrate this into Season 10 .... I am trying to imagine the Ewing family being told they should start by not having every other table in the house have a flask of alcohol on top of it.
