Can @Ked use your A.I. skills to redecorate Alexis' Carlton suite with the above specifications? The apartment all-black, black chinoiserie wall-paper, with the B&W portrait of Alexis huge and over the bar (or the mantle, I guess, if you can't get the correct angle), her sofa (in front of the fireplace) in gold silky-ness?

I'd appreciate the effort.

And after about a year of her exotic, black chinoiserie Carlton suite with this huge B&W photo framed hanging over her bar -- once her handler in the gubernatorial race forces her to tone things down a bit, she redecorates her suite in the more demure, mauve-y way we mostly saw it:

Although I'd spiff it up even so: some pink marble around the bar area, a portrait of Alexis over the mantle, and a non-white couch in golden yellow silk.

This any better? (I couldn't get any pink marble to appear, sadly)

@Snarky Oracle! Y'know, you were onto something with your idea. Alexis' suite looks MUCH better, not to mention it looks more like "her", y'know? It's a bit claustrophobic, but only because it feels like it's filled to the brim with luxury and excess, which is perfect for the richest lady in Denver. Plus, the black helps make it look more like a villain's lair, so to speak.

Six episodes later, Alexis is now slowly going insane. Dex has to bail her out of "WalMart Jail" after a particularly scary episode involving her driving a mobility cart around the sales floor in a daze, eventually crashing into a display of adult diapers. The very next day she's thrown out of Costco for slapping the sample lady. Things get worse.....much worse when she mistakes canned cat food for Iranian Caviar and serves it at a disastrous ColbyCo board meeting.

The photo above is from a scene where Adam seeks to intervene. Though it can be argued that staring at that print all day was what drove her over the edge, he fears the special additive he stirred into the wallpaper paste might have hastened her descent into insanity.

I wish they hadn't. Watching Dynasty just isn't the same when you know. My brain focuses more on the background and the rooms than the characters.

I wish they'd introduced the Colby characters in several episode of early-Season 6, with some of their early storylines, before spinning off. Because, if they brought in William Bast & Paul Huson to help do that, they could've spiffed-up some of the mansion's interior set dressing (as the duo were involved in THE COLBYS' production design -- which looked much better than that of DYNASTY).
